Greetings!

1. Next week we have parent/teacher conferences on Monday, 3/10 and Tuesday, 3/11! Thank you for signing up! We look forward to seeing you and partnering with you!

2. If you have not yet signed up for conferences, please reach out to your child's teacher or call the office at 402-715-8280 as the sign up has now closed, but we would be happy to help get you a time slot!

3. This weekend is Daylight Savings Time!

4. Next week, the students have school Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and then they are off of school 3/13-3/17. We will see them Tuesday, 3/18! There will not be a newsletter next week!

5. Have a wonderful weekend with your families! We have a heatwave coming! :)

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Pi day is March 14! Why? Because March 14 is 3.14, the first three digits of pi! To celebrate Pi Day AND Albert Einstein's birthday (who DIDN'T discover pi but HAPPENED to be born on March 14), we will have our Pi memorization contest. Since students do not have school on March 13th or 14th, we will celebrate Wednesday, March 12th. Students who would like to participate may come to Mrs. Gillis’s classroom in the library on March 11th and 12th after the pledge or after school on the 11th to write all the digits they can remember. The top three students with the most memorized numbers will win prizes. Kindergarten and 1st grade will have someone come to the classroom on the 12th and the students will say the digits out loud instead. I have included a practice sheet if you would like to practice at home!

Awards will be given on 3.12.25.

And remember, there will be prizes!

If you have an incoming kindergartener or new student entering Millard Public Schools for the 2025-26 school year, please enroll your student beginning February 1, 2025 at www.mpsomaha.org. By completing your child's enrollment as soon as possible you help us place students sooner and communicate with your family in a timely way. Please note, the new student enrollment window is for NEW STUDENTS ONLY! Existing student updates will occur between June 9 and July 31, 2025.

The PTO is a great way to meet other parents, find out about PTO sponsored events and volunteer on several event committees. By joining and/or being a volunteer, you are working with other parents and teachers/staff members, to help enrich the educational experience for all students.
