There are so many ways to help your child at home even if you are not fluent in the target language they are learning. Here are some tips for doing so:

• ask what they learned in class
• review their vocabulary or class notes with them for 5-10 minutes daily.
• listen to music in the target language.
• watch Television or movies in the target language.
• speak the target language if possible at home.
• flashcards with vocabulary
• label items in the house in the target language.
• use free digital platforms like Duolingo for 5 minutes a day.

Students in Spanish 1:The students are getting ready to take the test in lesson 2, and start lesson 3. Lesson 3 is about family and friends, describe people and things and express possession.

(Miguez)Students will be introduced to the following:

. Vocabulary related to parties and celebrations.

. Vocabulary used to talk about stages of life and personal relationships.

. Irregular preterites of several common verbs.

. Verbs that change meaning in the preterite tense

Holidays around the Hispanic Countries.

(Morales)-We started the lesson 3 in the one the students will learn about: “fiestas”

- How to express congratulations, gratitude.

- How to ask and pay the bill at a restaurant

Students will be introduced to the following:

Vocabulary used to talk about health and exercise.

Vocabulary used to discuss nutrition and a healthy diet.

Read about natural spas.

Learn exercise-related terms.

The present perfect.

French 1(6th)-currently offered online via OCVS/FLVS.

sexto grado(6)- students are working on word classification and how to use this for proper writing and reading.

séptimo grado(7)- Students are working on the better understanding of correct orthography. This will allow them to improve their writing skills.

octavo grado AP(8)-Students are ending the AP frame work theme Familias y comunidades. Students will continue to work with reading comprehension activities that fall in this curriculum theme while integrating writing and orla activities.

Ciencias Biológicas (6to)-During the month of December we are going to work in a new unit which is called genetics. Students will learn new important vocabulary and how we can predict the result of crossing two different traits.

Students who were invited to be part of our Spanish Honor Society have been given the letters and all the information. The deadline to submit paperwork and payments is January 7, 2025.
