Congratulations Michael Guaglianone, Assistant Principal, Franklin Middle School
The Yakima School District is pleased to announce the selection of Michael Guaglianone as Assistant Principal of Franklin Middle School, effective July 1, 2024, pending approval by the school board.
Michael Guaglianone brings a passion for education and community engagement. With a strong background in mathematics and computer science, Michael has been an educator in the Yakima Valley since 2015, where he served as a math and computer science teacher at Davis High School, department chair, Administrative Intern, and adjunct professor with Heritage University and Yakima Valley College.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from California Polytechnic State University, a Master of Arts in Theology from Western Seminary, and a Master in Teaching from Heritage University, where he also completed his Principal Administration Certificate. His training includes certifications in K-12 Professional Teaching, National Board Adolescent and Young Adult Mathematics, and Career Technical Education.
Before a career in education, Michael worked in the technology industry assisting businesses in California and Seattle. Throughout his career, Michael has readily engaged in servant leadership and is deeply committed to student success. He has led various initiatives, such as the Davis Parent Advisory Committee, instructional technology coaching, and the implementation of school improvement plans.
In addition, Michael is deeply involved in community activities. He has volunteered with several youth programs, coordinated regional high school eSports events, and facilitated interfaith groups. He is passionate about creating inclusive, supportive environments for students and staff– a place where people want to come back to again and again.
Michael is married with four children. He enjoys outdoor activities, working on old cars, and baking sourdough bread. Michael is committed to investing in the future of Franklin Middle School and the surrounding community.
