Earth's Structure

Hello to the greatest students ever. When we complete this Lesson you should be able to:

SUMMARIZE the structure of the Earth, including the layers, the mantle and core, based on the relative position, composition and density.

Refer back to this over the next few days to make sure you are on the right track!

Did you know that the Earth is made of several different layers? Each one has it's own unique composition. Take a look at this webpage. Read through it and watch the video at the end. When complete, head over to the discussion that's happening in our Canvas course.

Next: Watch the video below. Don't forget to make your bullet points in Canvas to summarize the important points.

Task: Name something else that has layers like the earth. Put your answer on this padlet.

Create a Paper Slide Video that uses all the vocabulary words in a fun and informative way. Imagine you are teaching a 3rd grader about the Layers of the Earth- make sure they can understand what you are saying. Materials are in the blue bin on the center table. You may work quietly with others who are working on the task as well. Once done UPLOAD your file to the Canvas assignment.

Meet me at the board during the first ten or last ten. We will discuss your creations and have a conversation about HOW AWESOME the Earth is!! Be prepared to explain an "ah-hah" moment you had during the last few days while learning about the Earth's Structure.

TASK: Take the lyrics and audio file from Mr. Lee's rap song and turn it into a video you can share with the class. These will be posted on our class YouTube Channel so make sure it's quality work you are proud of. This is an individual assignment unless you plead your case during the "top 2". See ya there :)
