We will use the Making Thinking Visible thinking routine "Step Inside" to think about a person or an object that is part of or connected to an event or situation.

I will place myself inside an event or situation to see things from another point of view.

This routine focuses on perspective taking and provides structure to take student thinking to another level and to develop an even greater empathetic response.

After image, video, audio, story, issue, or question has been introduced, provide time for learners to think about the players and observers (both animate and inanimate) in the scenario and ask the student to select a person or thing.

Ask questions. Create lists of ideas and provide justifications using evidence. Utilize "What Makes You Say That?" to push students to provide evidence.
