Cycle VA Maryland
Maryland VA's Adaptive Sports Cycling program
What is Cycle VA Maryland?
MOVEMENT IS MEDICINE!
Cycling is an incredibly popular way to enjoy the outdoors and get some exercise. That’s where we can assist through our Cycle VA Maryland program. Our purpose is to provide Veteran's more opportunities to build skills, endurance, and a community through cycling. However, not everyone can easily ride a traditional bicycle. The Maryland VA utilizes adaptive cycles when necessary to provide interested Veteran's the equipment needed to make the "impossible, possible". Adaptive Bikes are bikes that are modified to fit the needs of an individual rider. There are all different abilities and challenges, and there are a wide variety of ways that a bicycle or tricycle can be modified to make cycling possible.
This program is designed for Veterans that are committed to cycling and want to continue to build their cycling journey. We recommended Veteran's try our RCAT Pedal the Point first.
How do I get involved?
Veteran's that are interested in cycling or adaptive cycling but would like to try it once or twice before diving into our weekly sessions can sign up with the link below.
if you are interested in starting or resuming your cycle journey more regularly, Veteran's will need to obtain a RT Adaptive Sports and Wellness Consult with their provider.
