A ganglion cyst is a lump or swelling that mostly occurs on the back of the hand at the wrist joint. It looks like a sac of liquid (cyst) filled inside with a thick, sticky, clear, colorless, jellylike material. Depending on the size, cysts can be firm or spongy.
