MAKE UPS will occur as needed
Next week your child will be taking the NWEA MAP Test in Math, Reading and Science. By working together, we can make your child's test experience positive and successful. Here are some suggestions that you can do to help your child succeed:
- Make sure your child gets a good nights rest.
- Have your child eat a healthy breakfast at home or in the cafeteria at school.
- Make sure your child arrives at school on time.
- Gently encourage your child to do their best. Talk to your student about being:
- Relaxed
- Take deep breaths
- Think positive thoughts
- Listen carefully to directions
- Read each question carefully
- Identify key words
- Think about what the question is really asking
- Read the entire question and all the answer choices
- Apply strategies that they have learned in class to figure out the answer
- Pick the best answer
- Recheck your answer before moving onto the next question
Please take a moment to write an encouraging note to your student and return to school in a sealed envelope before the test we will give to your student on the first day of testing. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to your child's education!
Sincerely,
Principal Caesar

Introducing PBIS
PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports. It is an evidence-based framework used by schools to improve school culture and student behavior, promoting a safe environment for learning. PBIS is based on several decades of research by major universities across the country. A key aspect of PBIS is focusing on more positive behaviors and less on negative behaviors. You can learn more about PBIS on our “What is PBIS” resource page. More information to come!
