To the Families of the Blanco Vista community:
The current PTA board would like to thank those of you who donated time, money and/or services this year to support Blanco Vista Elementary through BVES PTA! Your assistance has ensured that the PTA has sufficient funding and volunteers for this year’s events for our students.
While we have had successful events, unfortunately attendance at the last several meetings has been minimal and therefore we were not able to elect an executive board at the last meeting on March 21st. It must be said that without a board and membership involvement in both meetings and events our association will cease to function, and can host no dances, no carnivals or festivals, no holiday shop and no concession stands at other school events such as field day or meet the teacher.
Our next membership meeting is set for April 18th at 5:30pm, and we would like to ask you to take this opportunity to come with your ideas, your concerns and, most importantly, your vote so that we can continue to support our school, staff and, most of all, students for the ’24-’25 school year. To contribute to the PTA does not require a major time commitment. Even a small amount of your time will prove fruitful. If you are not able to attend meetings or functions, we would still love to hear your thoughts and ideas. The stronger our group, with a large collection of voices, the better equipped we will be to support our beloved school. We need ways to improve lives for our students from campus to the district office to the statehouse.
Some amazing ideas have already circulated to bring more fun experiences to the students, improving the campus, and seminars on cyber security/drug safety. All we need is enthusiasm and your voice. We welcome nominees for board positions and especially need a treasurer and secretary. Please take some time to consider and we hope to see you all April 18th and for your responses to this plea.
