Kindergarten Academy - Beginner

Join Meadowlark Clark, TVP Kindergarten teacher, for six sessions highlighting different components of a successful Kindergarten classroom. Each session will feature a demonstration of the session's highlighted component and time for debriefing, discussion, and questions. Kindergarten Academy - Beginner is geared toward first-time Kindergarten teachers or those who have not attended Kinder Academy in some time. In these sessions kindergarten teachers will learn best practices for literacy instruction. Teachers will receive PD focused on these practices, will have opportunities to observe lessons in a kindergarten classroom, and will have time to plan lessons together.

November 5th, 8:30 - 11:30 AM: Phonemic Awareness and Phonics

December 3rd, 1:00 - 4:00 PM: Guided Reading

January 14th, 8:30 - 11:30 AM: Writer's Workshop

February 6th, 1:00 - 4:00 PM: Shared Reading

March 10th, 8:30 - 11:30 AM: Interactive Read Aloud

April 9th, 1:00 - 4:00 PM: Formative Assessment

**All sessions will be held at Tukes Valley Primary, room 167**

A: Click the link below to log onto your ProDev account. Under the "Course Registration" tab, search for course ID 4694 "Kindergarten Academy Beginner 2019-20", then click the "Register" button.
Q: How do I request a substitute?
A: Please complete a Pre-Arranged Absence request with your building secretary. Make sure to check the "Teaching & Learning" box, and indicate "Kindergarten Academy with Meadowlark Clark" to ensure your substitute request is routed to the correct budget.
Q: Will I get clock hours for attending sessions?
A: Yes! Each session attended is worth 3 clock hours.
