Car Rider Line Reminder - Left Turn Lane
Please remember that our car rider line queues on 2854 on the school side of the street and turns in the right turn lane. Please do not use the left turn lane to try to enter the car rider line, as this blocks buses trying to get to the bus ramp. If you are coming from that direction you will need to go past the school and make a u-turn.
Bus Tag Reminder
Please do not punch holes into the SMARTtag bus tags. They must go inside a clear plastic protector to attach to a backpack. When a hole is punched into the tag, the chip inside will not work and the tag will not read on the SMARTtag scanners.
Watch D.O.G.S. Sign-up Info
The Watch DOGS sign up genius for this semester will be sent to those who have turned in both the Watch DOGS form and district background check. Please only sign up for ONE day- we want to be able to give everyone who would like to participate the opportunity.
Forms can be found below:

Stowe's Sticky Notes
We're well into our iReady Math Spirit Week and I have loved getting to see everyone dressed up in their spirit gear and completing their lessons. As of just our first two days of friendly competition, our students have already passed more than FOUR THOUSAND lessons!
This is the third year that we have had an iReady Spirit Week and each time I am blown away by our students, their competitiveness, and the progress that they make on their learning! We've been updating our students each morning on the grade level with the most lessons passed per student and today's update was SOOOOO CLOSE- with first and second place literally separated by 0.01 lessons passed per student (one thousandth).
As of Tuesday Morning here are the grade level standings:
THIRD GRADE 8.04
FOURTH GRADE 8.03
SECOND GRADE 7.65
FIRST GRADE 5.71
KINDERGARTEN 5.53
FIFTH GRADE 3.76
Our iReady Hall of Fame is also up and ready to go (Thank you PTA!) and we are excited to announce all of our awards on Friday at our Tribe Day Pep Rally!
Happy Learning,
Stowe
(from last week)
How does iReady Spirit Week work? Students complete lessons on their personalized pathway, or via teacher assigned lessons. Each lesson takes about 20 minutes and follows the pattern of instruction, practice, and a scoring round (or quiz). The more lessons you complete from Monday through Thursday, the more incentives you can earn for yourself, your class, or your grade level.
Individual Goal: Every student who passes at least 6 lessons during the qualifying period will earn a snow cone. (6 lessons is approx. 120 minutes)
Individual/Grade Level Goal: The student in each grade level who passes the most lessons will named the iReady Spirit Week Champion and have their name and photo placed on the iReady Wall of Fame.
Class/Grade Level Goal: The top class/homeroom in each grade level who completes the greatest number of lessons per student will earn a pizza party!
Grade Level Goal: The top grade level who completes the greatest number of lessons per student will earn... A FOAM PARTY!
Who knew math could be so much fun? Also be on the lookout for Snargg one of the iReady friends students will see in lessons in addition to Yoop and Plory.
Mr. Stowe
The Winning Grade Level will get a FOAM PARTY

AP's Notes
Regular and timely attendance is essential for student success. Recently, we’ve noticed a significant increase in tardies and early departures schoolwide. This trend impacts instructional time and can lead to gaps in learning that are difficult to recover.
Our district policy emphasizes the importance of attendance:
- 10 tardies or early departures: Parents will receive an official notification letter.
- 15 tardies or early departures: The student will be required to complete one hour of credit recovery, either before or after school.
- Every additional 5 tardies or early departures: Another hour of credit recovery will be assigned.
We kindly ask for your support in reversing this trend by ensuring your child arrives on time and stays until the end of the school day. Together, we can create a positive and productive learning experience for all students! Thank you for your partnership.

Arrival and Dismissal Notes
Do NOT park in a handicap space for any amount of time unless you have a handicap sticker. We have families that need to use these spaces.
If you are parking and not using the car rider line, you must walk your children into the vestibule. Students can only be dropped off on the car rider line.
If you arrive after 8:15am, you will need to park in the parking lot and escort your children inside for a tardy pass. Students may not be dropped off at the curb.
Transportation changes can be made through PikMyKid up until 2pm each day. Click on the calendar to update your dismissal method. It's always a good idea to let the teacher know via email/dojo/bloomz just in case.
The last time to check out a student early is 3:00pm. If you have an emergency, please contact the front office.
School ends each day 3:40pm and dismissal begins at that time. Please keep these times and the time it takes to dismiss all students in mind as you register students for extra-curricular activities.
At dismissal, if you need to buckle a child into a seat for car rider, after your child is safely in the car, please pull forward into a visitor parking spot so that you can safely buckle in your child and keep our line moving.
Updated Snack Procedures from Child Nutrition
The MISD Child Nutrition department has updated the number and grade spans for snacks to be consistent across all MISD Elementary campuses. This means that technically Kindergarten students could purchase an ice cream every day. In the past we had limited lower grades to just one day per week.
If you need to place a restriction on your child's lunch account so that they aren't charging a snack (or two!) every day, please reach out to our cafeteria manager, Erica Cedillo, at erica.cedillo@misd.org.
