Air Conditioning Update
We want to inform our school community that the air conditioning system in our building is still currently unavailable. With warmer weather expected next week, we will do our best to keep the building as cool and comfortable as possible for students and staff. The full replacement of the air conditioning system is scheduled for July. Thank you for your understanding and continued patience as we work through this.
Aviation
This week, Aviation 35 students wrote the Transport Canada PSTAR exam with Radwan Hoche, Chief Flight Instructor at the Edmonton Flying Club. The exam tests student pilots on aviation regulations, with a tough 90% pass requirement. Mr. Tomkins is proud to share that five students passed and will receive certification—congrats!

SRO In The Know
As the end of the school year approaches, we are asking our graduating students who are choosing to play the “Senior Assassin” water gun game to stay safe and follow the rules.
While the game is meant to be fun, it should not cause safety concerns or lead to misunderstandings that require police involvement.
We are hopeful students will continue to enjoy the tradition safely and are reminding participants to be mindful of how the game can be perceived, especially when using toy weapons in public. One of our concerns is that the weapons used while playing the game often look realistic and at times are even painted black to appear like a real firearm. Anyone who damages property or injures a person or animal by discharging an air gun or replica firearm could be subject to criminal charges as well as civil liability. We strongly encourage parents to monitor their children's use of these types of guns if they have access to them.

In the Community
We’ve recently received a concern from a local resident about litter being left behind by students along Festival Way, just north of the school. As a school community, we want to ensure we are respectful and responsible neighbors. We kindly remind all students to take pride in our community by using garbage bins and keeping shared spaces clean. Let’s all do our part to represent Salisbury positively in the community.
