Willett will be celebrate our amazing Willett teachers and staff the week of May 5th-9th. Room parents will be coordinating with teachers to ensure that they would like to participate and, if so, will be sending out links to classroom KudoBoards as well as a daily schedule of suggested small ways for students to show their gratitude. Students will take the lead with any classroom gifts and participation is completely optional and meant to be fun and heartfelt.
Here’s the daily schedule:

- Wednesday, May 7 – Bring a School Supply
- A fresh pack of markers, tissues, or a favorite classroom supply would be appreciated.
- Thursday, May 8 – Bring a Treat
- Bring a sweet or savory snack (homemade or store-bought) for your teacher.

Volunteers Needed for Battle of the Books
Our annual Battle of the Books event will take place on Thursday, May 29 from 1 to 3 in the afternoon. Mr. Fluetsch needs 10 to 15 adult volunteers to assist with scoring and game management. He will train you that day. It's a lot of fun! If you would like more information or are interested in volunteering, please contact Mr. Fluetsch at cfluetsch@djusd.net
Active4.me Bike to School Updates
Active4.me hopes you enjoyed Sunday's Loopalooza, riding around the Davis Bike Loop. If you couldn’t make it, the bike loop awaits as a fun ride north, south, east and west through Davis - take it while the weather is still cool!
Please consider volunteering for Active4.me. This year our program at Willett is being staffed by three non-parent volunteers who show up every day to scan our kids as they arrive to school. We need volunteers to both coordinate and become active scanners for next year. Ideally, the program would have one coordinator and five active scanners so that there is flexibility for people to rotate and not have to be there every day. Even if you can’t scan, we could still use someone to organize and schedule the people who do scan next year. And if you want to scan, all you need is an Apple phone. For those who don’t have an Apple phone, the school has a computer. If you like having this program at Willett we need your help to keep it going. Otherwise, it is very likely that this program will end after the current school year. If you are interested in helping or know someone who is, please contact the Willett PTA at: president@willettpta.org or communications@willettpta.org Thank you!
May is Bike Month! Enjoy the spring weather with a bike ride!
Willett End of Year Celebration!
Join us Friday, May 30th from 5:00-8:00 pm to celebrate the end of the school year! Bring a picnic or grab a bite from a food truck who will be onsite. Enjoy games and assorted activities for all ages.
If you are interested in volunteering or sponsoring this incredible community-building and fun event please contact the Willett PTA at: president@willettpta.org or communications@willettpta.org Thank you!
