Wednesday, October 9 = Minimum Day
Valhalla High School has a scheduled minimum day schedule this Wednesday, October 9th. Period 1 classes will still start at 8:30am while Period 2 classes will start at 9:13am.
College and Career Night - October 9th
College and Career Night is open to students and families of ALL grade levels. The event will open at 5pm with a college/career fair, followed by a counselor info session, and multiple breakout info sessions students and families can choose from. We will have giveaways and free pizza during the fair! This event includes four year universities, community colleges, financial aid reps, military branches, trade schools, and career pathways! Senior Tailgate - Friday, October 11th
The Class of 2025 is hosting the Senior Tailgate this Friday, October 11th during the HOME Football game against El Capitan. This event takes place at 5:30pm on the parking lot behind the football scoreboard. There will be amazing food and music and Mr. Johnson and and Mr. Cota will be working the grill! Tickets are $7.00 or $5.00 with a Senior Privilege Card.
PSAT/NMSQT at VALHALLA
Attention Juniors/Sophomores: Sign up for the PSAT/NMSQT
Testing Day: Saturday, October 26, 2024 8:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m.
(Test is administered on your Chromebook)
Priority registration for Juniors: Sept. 9th - 20th
Sophomores may sign up: Sept 23 - Oct. 11

Advanced Placement (AP) Exams
AP Exam ordering begins this week and ends on November 4th!
- Order forms are available from your AP teacher as well as the Finance Office.
- Students must be registered in AP Classroom in order to purchase an exam. Ask your AP Teacher to verify AP Classroom registration.
- Exam payment must be submitted in person at the Finance Office before 4:00pm on November 4th to avoid the $40 late fee (per exam).

Student Photos and ID Cards
Does your student still need to take their school photo or need their ID card reprinted? Please take a moment to complete THIS google form or scan the QR code below.
Please Clear Absences within 72 Hours
Student absences must be cleared within 72 hours of the day of absence in order for them to be excused. Call the all day absence line (619) 593-5333 leave a detailed message with your student's name, ID number, date of absence, and reason for absence.
To bypass voicemail:
- press 1 for early release
- press 2 for all-day absence.
Valhalla is a Bronze member of the AP Honor Roll!
Congratulations to Valhalla High School which has been named to the 2024 AP School Honor Roll! The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP program are delivering results and broadening access for students. Schools can earn the Honor Roll recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing their school’s college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.
Valhalla had 40% of seniors who took at least one AP Exam during high school, 32% of seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP Exam, and 17% of seniors who took five or more AP Exams. Valhalla High School earned the Bronze Level of Distinction and is the only school in the district to make the AP Honor Roll!

College Application Help
College application help starts this Thursday, September 19th! Seniors, come to the counseling office every Thursday during 6th and 7th period (once you are out of school) for one-on-one college application help! Bring your chromebook and your questions and counselors will be available to help. We're happy to review apps before you submit or give you tips on how to strengthen your application.
College & Career Representative Visits are starting!
Throughout the semester, we will have a variety of college representatives visiting Valhalla to meet with our students. Visits are held in the counseling office, unless specified, and students of all grade levels are welcome to attend. Just visit our College and Career Reps Visit page and fill out a quick Google Form to sign up. Students will be sent a pass to attend and are responsible for communicating with teachers regarding any missed class time/work. See below for upcoming visits this week:
