The Wildcat Week Ahead
3/31 - 4/4
The Spring Fever Edition
Happy Monday, Families!
I hope you're enjoying the surprises of Vermont's spring—last week's weather was truly one-of-a-kind! Fingers crossed we're nearing the end of those indoor recess days because nothing beats a little fresh air for our kids.
As we jump into April, it's an exciting time here! We have a busy month ahead with state testing, spring sports lighting up the Islands, and preparations for April break.
We've noticed a bit of extra energy (and sometimes a little extra weariness) in our students lately—something that can happen with the arrival of spring. I've shared some helpful resources in the Family Resource section below about managing anger and behavioral ups and downs during this season.
A quick reminder: yearbook orders are coming up soon! If your child would love a yearbook but you're facing any financial hurdles, please know we're here to support you. Just drop me an email, and I'll gladly help you out.
You should have received your child's report card via email last week—if you haven't, please let me know.
For families of 6th graders: If you're unsure about any remaining documentation needed for 7th grade, please reach out to Dave Mills at dmills@gisu.org for any tuition and residency questions. I’ve also linked the registration pages for the schools where I know our kids are headed. Remember, you must register directly with the school your child will attend for 7th grade, and note that not all registrations have opened yet.

Opportunity for Engagement
Hello Legislators representing Grand Isle County,
The Grand Isle Supervisory Union will hold a special meeting on Saturday April 5th and would like to invite you all to participate. This meeting is meant to be a forum for sharing proposed education finance and governance changes being considered by the legislature and to answer questions of residents. This invitation is to provide you an opportunity to present information, answer questions, comment on current legislation and to hear feedback from Grand Isle County residents. We, and I believe the residents of Grand Isle County, would appreciate your participation. The time is somewhat flexible. We have reserved the North Hero Community Hall from 1:30 - 3:30 PM. As usual, to comply with the open meeting law, participation can be in person or via remote link.
Proposed Agenda would be:
15 minutes for school board to present information on proposed education governance and funding changes
15 minutes for legislature comments/updates on latest education governance and funding changes
Remainder of time for Q&A
We look forward to your participation. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
Bob Chutter Chair, Grand Isle Supervisory Union
Whitney Maxham Chair, Alburgh School District
Michael Inners Chair, Champlain Islands Unified Union School District (Grand Isle, North Hero and Isle Lamotte)
Rich Monterosso Chair, South Hero School District
