We hope that your September and start of the school year at WAVA has been a success! Our goal at WAVA is to be here for your family throughout the year! If you are looking for additional tips and tricks to settle into your schedule or learning coach role, our WAVA Bulletin Board Links page has resources and helpful information to support you! Our teachers look forward to working with their classes each day, please reach out at any time if you have questions or need additional support! We have Counselors at WAVA for all grades. Counselors provide support to students with office hours, options support sessions, social and emotional learning content and 7 mindsets information.

This month we encourage students to take advantage or our community engagement opportunities! Our WAVA Clubs are starting throughout October. You will find a full list of clubs, days/times and links to attend on our Clubs Page. Students can attend a club at anytime. Please bookmark our clubs page and start to attend and join this month! Students can enjoy Baking, Art, Music, GLSEN, Dungeons and Dragons, Book Club, Fitness, ASB, Esports, Robotics, and CTSO. Students can also compete in National Contests, currently we have a Game On Challenge and registration for an Innovation Challenge! Get involved and attend a WAVA Outing, these are great opportunities to meet other WAVA students!

We offer Clubs that meet weekly, competitions, online socializing through the K12 Zone, and Learning Coach Chats. You can participate in a WAVA Club anytime, just visit the below link for clubs on the WAVA Bulletin Board Oct-May and jump into a link to participate! You can also find K12 clubs and competitions through your OLS announcements! Our K12 Zone is open M-F, 12-4pm and accessible through your OLS.

Each year K12 offers competitions throughout the year! Compete in Innovation, Photography, Baking, Art, Robotics, and our Esports Team. Students can compete and make it to a National Level with prizes, trips and more. Check the monthly offerings and participate!! https://www.k12.com/stride-competitions/

We have monthly outings at WAVA! Every Friday 12-2pm we have rotating outings at various park locations throughout WA State. We also have outings that teachers host throughout the year like library days, museum visit, tours and more! Be sure to check out Outings link and join in on the fun! These are optional and not required! If you don't see an outing in your area you can always request one with your teacher or post one to the Learning Coach Community.

Check it out! We are excited to offer Stride Tutoring to provide resources and tools in support to our WAVA K12 students. This service provides trained tutoring for a variety of subjects and grades. Just select the focus area you need support in, search the tutoring staff schedule, schedule online and begin!

At WAVA we have Testing and Assessments throughout the year for our students. Testing is in-person at various locations across WA state. We do our best to make the experience as seamless as possible and positive for all students and families. Our team communicates regularly and provides information for all of your planning needs!
