General News and Updates!
National Association of Gifted Children Conference
I've had a great time learning about supporting gifted students, teachers, and parents at the NAGC conference along with several Lindbergh teachers. Thank you for your support of our attendance. One of my favorite things I've learned the past few days as the analogy of relationship building being like a Jenga game. Each block of trust and safety makes the foundation stronger, but every time a brick is pulled out that tower gets a bit more wobbly. One missing block is not going to cause a fall, but unless we fit blocks back in, at some point the tower will fall. I love that we all work together as a team of teachers, parents, and students to create a community of trust and safety to build these relationships for your gifted kiddos! I really value these relationships and truly believe they make a difference for our students!
I will still be out on Monday. If you need assistance with anything, please email Cathie Page (cpage@lindberghschools.ws) and/or Thomas Anderson (thomasanderson@lindberghschools.ws). Mr. Anderson will serve as the teacher in charge while I'm off site.
Strengths Based Approach
I also love the concept of focusing on students' strengths and looking at how the strengths correspond to common exceptionalities of our gifted students. Inattentive students may seem distracted, but they are also the dreamers who come up with new and innovated ideas. Impulsive students are willing take the risks that move the world forward. Hyperactive students have a lot of energy to accomplish taks. Check out this awesome graphic below.

You can see all the assignment instructions, learning materials, and retake information. We encourage you to talk with your child about how they use Canvas to access learning information and manage their work completion. This is a great way to check in to see how they are doing!

Understanding Social Emotional Learning Survey Results: Elementary
This fall, all Lindbergh students in grades 3-5 participated in screening using the Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener (mySAEBRS). The purpose of this screener is to provide a big-picture measure of the student experience at Lindbergh Schools and identify individual students who may need additional support in the areas of academic, emotional, and social skills.
It is important to note that these surveys provide only a glimpse or snapshot of a student's response on the day the screener was administered. No data point should ever be used as a sole indicator when determining needs for students. Below, please find the interpretation guides:
