March is here! This is the last month for quarter 3. Students will be starting their last quarter at LMS right after spring break. We are planning end of the year activities including transition activities for 5th and 8th grade students. Tomorrow, March 2nd there is a parent/student information meeting for 8th grade students from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm in the Linden High School Auditorium. Also on March 2nd, LMS NJHS is hosting a Sock Hop & Open Gym Night at LMS from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Next week, Linden High School counselors will be visiting 8th Grade Eagle Times to speak to 8th grade students about scheduling their 9th grade classes.
LMS School Counselor, Mrs. Gambrel, has been communicating to current 6th and 7th grade students about the opportunity to enroll in band next year. Students do not need to have experience to join band. Spanish I may be available for 8th grade students that have demonstrated the academic rigor for a high school level course by maintaining As' & B's. There is limited space for this year long exploratory. Please be sure to have your current 6th/7th grade student complete the links below if they are interested in band or Spanish I. Students that are not interested in band or Spanish I will be scheduled into 8 exploratory classes available at their grade level including: STEM Lab, Physical Education, Art, 7th Grade World Language Exploratory, and 7th or 8th Grade Career Educational Development Plan (EDP).
LCS Community Ed has coordinated with Fenton to offer Middle School Girls Junior "HEAT" Girls Lacrosse. Deb Brindle our Community Ed Director, Coach Luck & Coach Greene came to LMS and spoke to girls interested in Lacrosse, If you have a middle school girl interested in playing Lacrosse, please see the registration flyer and clinic attached to this newsletter. The Lacrosse clinic is this Saturday, march 4th from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Linden High School.
