Principal's Message
Dear Palisades Park Families,
It is hard to believe it but we are already in May. Just 35 days until Summer Break. Although we are closing in on the end of the year, we are kicking into high gear at PPHS. below are some important upcoming events to keep in mind
PPHS Graduation on June 19th at 7:30 at the County Field. Rain Date on June 20th.
AP testing in May for students taking Advanced Placement.
New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) for grades 7-11 in May. You can find a copy of the parent notification letter previously sent home here.
Please encourage your children to try their very best on these assessments. Receiving 3 or higher on an AP could mean earning college credit which saves time and money while putting students ahead of the curve when they start college. As for the NJSLA, these scores could be used as a graduation pathway when students reach their senior year and will be a factor in determining placement for next year.
With Tiger Pride!
Mr. Andrew Garcia

Mr. Hutchinson - PPHS Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to our outstanding Teacher of the Year, Mr. Hutchinson aka โHutchโ! In addition to being a great teacher, Mr. Hutchinson is the Head Coach of our Girl's Basketball Team. His dedication to both his students in the classroom and his players on the court exemplifies true commitment and passion. Your caring demeanor and positive attitude inspire everyone at PPHS. Thank you for your hard work! PPHS is a better place because you are a part of it!

Our NHS and NJHS hosted a delicious dessert buffet that will help fund the NHS Scholarships. Pictured above is just a small selection of what was available. The line wrapped around the cafe! Great job!
Italian Honor Society & the Easter Bunny
This post is a little late but better late than never! Our wonderful Italian Honor Society students, in conjunction with the Palisades Park PTS, volunteered to spread Spring Joy to our little Tiger Cubs. Special shout out to Kevin Wu (bunny) and all of our student volunteers: Vanessa Morales, Ashley Osorio-Reyes, and Temulen Iveelt.
PPHS Unsung Hero at the BOE Meeting
JiLynn Rivera, senior, was recognized at our last BOE meeting for earning the BCSBA Unsung Hero Award. We are so proud of you!

Voter Registration Week
In an effort to raise awareness of the importance of our civic duty, Mr. Mascolo, Supervisor of the Humanities, led the charge to inform our students who are eligible to vote. In addition to visiting classrooms, Mr. Mascolo teamed up with Mr. Musler and his Video Production crew to create the public service announcement linked here. Check it out!
HS Game Changers Service Award
Our very own Travis Park has been nominated by his fire chief for the NJ.com Game Changer Service Award. He is one of 3 finalists but needs the support of our whole community to get the votes needed to secure victory! Please take a moment to click this link, scroll down to the Service Award section, and cast your vote. Letโs get Travis the W! Voting closes on May 7th.

Principal's List & Perfect Attendance Breakfast
On Friday, April 26th, we celebrated our students who have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence. Students who earned Principal's List and maintained perfect attendance for Q3 were recognized at a breakfast that took part during period 1 & 2. Congrats to all our students who earned this distinction.
National Italian Exam Honorees
19 PPHS students of various levels of Italian, participated in the National Italian Exam along with 5000 students nationwide. This National contest is sponsored by the AATI, American Association Teachers of Italian.
I am proud to announce that all of our students are recipients of either, GOLD, SILVER, BRONZE medals, HONORABLE MENTION or MERIT recognition.
April 25th was Bring Your Child to Work Day. PPHS hosted over 30 kiddos who had fun at the gym, learned English, Math, Science, History, etc. in our HS classes, took part in arts and crafts with our Art department, and even hosted their own news segments at our PPHS News Source desk! It was great for our staffโs children to see their parentโs hard work in action.
