Eagle Express
October 18th, 2024
Eagle Express - October 18th, 2024
Good afternoon Arrowwood Families,
We are starting to see an influx of students again being dropped off early or at the parking lot exit when traffic is trying to leave. Please for the safety of all students and families, do not drop them off where they will have to cross in front of traffic or you will stop traffic. We are asking that all students be walked to the crosswalk with a staff member to stop traffic or be dropped off anywhere on the main sidewalk. Students should not be dropped off prior to 7:25 AM because there is no supervision. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Have a great weekend, Eagles!

Headband Ladies Seek Donations
The Headband Ladies, a group of passionate retired teachers and community members, are seeking donations for yarn. Each year the group collects yarn to make hats and headbands for every student at schools in the local area. Arrowwood for the last 3 years has received approximately 460 headbands for our students annually in the winter. The group currently has a collection box for full or partial balls of yarn in our main office. You can learn more about their work by following "The Headband Ladies" on Facebook.
Math Mights - D.C.
If you are looking for a way to help your student with math, we want to introduce you to the Math Mights. All students are working on developing multiple strategies to solve problems and to help learn these strategies we have the "Math Mights." This video introduces you to D.C. and decomposing numbers to help students (and adults) break down numbers into friendly numbers. Perfect for helping students with mental math.

The Great Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Last year Arrowwood had the most pumpkins decorated to receive a $250 donation to our art department so that all students could complete a clay project as well as several award winners. Be sure to check out this opportunity to receive a free pumpkin to decorate to submit to the competition at Skorupski's Funeral Home. Let's get creative Eagles!
Free Coats and Holiday Support
Several agencies have reached out for the winter months and wanting to ensure that our students are prepared. If your student is in need of a new coat or your family needs support for the holidays, please check out these opportunities below. As well, please don't hesitate to reach out to our school counselor, Ms. Albosta or Ms. D'Haene or Mrs. Hill so that we can make sure all of our students have want they need to be successful.
