WMS updates and reminders

This Monday, August 26th, all WMS students will be taking our fall MAP benchmarking assessment for Language Arts. Next Tuesday September 3rd students will take the same assessment for Math. MAP is a progress monitoring tool that educators utilize to determine the effectiveness of their instruction. We will conduct these assessments just twice this year with the second round coming in February. The MAP will be administered during the first two hours of the day, whereby students will then follow an amended schedule for the rest of the day.
Is your child interested in joining the robotics club? Interested students should sign up here.
Picture day will be occurring Tuesday, August 27th. Pictures will be done through Jostens this year. The company requests that students avoid wearing green due to the green screens they use. You will be able to view your child's pictures for ordering purposes here.
In the coming weeks WMS will be conducting sets of safety drills related to fire, tornado, and other safety related readiness. These state mandated drills will be done during non-instructional time to avoid as much disruption as possible. This notification is just to forewarn you in case your child discusses any potential drills. All of these are planned events.

District partnership

The SWL Food service department is working in conjunction with WMS Environmental Sustainability classes to use our organically grown produce for student and staff consumption in the cafeteria!

Welcome Miss Hensley

The Guidance counselors at WMS will be joined by Kayla Hensley this fall, a Bowling Green State University counseling intern, to assist in providing social emotional learning supports to students in the building. Please help us in welcoming Miss Hensley.

Bunnies galore

Last spring WMS was fortunate enough to be joined by several new furry friends. The middle school Ag program was able to obtain several Angora rabbits for instruction related to animal sciences. The rabbit fur is hypo-allergenic and will be brushed out and utilized for other Art related projects.

Athletics

Hometown Ticketing

Varsity Ticket events are $7 up to 1 hour before the event. At the gate tickets are $8 (use of a card includes a fee at the gate). Middle School tickets are $5.

All athletes should enter and exit the building through the 600 hall (Door 7) entrance before and after practice each day.
