AMS Weekly Update
Monday, December 2-Friday, December 5, 2024
Dear Adams Families,
As we prepare to welcome the final month of 2024, we have an exciting week ahead with two home basketball games! Please note the following requirements for students to attend:
- Eligibility: Students must have fewer than three tardies and no suspensions.
- Identification: Students are required to present their school ID for entry.
We kindly ask parents to ensure timely pick-up after the games. With earlier sunsets and colder weather, students will need to wait outside for their rides after the games conclude.
Additionally, we remind parents to promptly pick up their children after school dismissal. Students are not permitted to wait inside the building as staff have meetings and there is no supervision available.
We’ve also noticed that many students are coming to school without coats. If your family is in need of assistance, please let us know. We are very fortunate to have the Family Resource Center housed here at Adams, which allows us to provide coats for students who need them. We never want any of our students to be cold during the winter months here in Michigan.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our school community safe, warm, and enjoyable!
Best,
Mrs. Bukosky and Mrs. Abbott

Attendance
If your child’s bus is canceled, please make sure to inform the school by calling the attendance line or speaking with a secretary. Let them know that the absence is due to a bus cancellation. The secretary will mark your child’s attendance with a “B” for bus cancellation, which will not count against them for truancy purposes.
If your child is sick and visits a doctor, please make sure to send in the doctor’s note or contact us with that information. This will allow us to mark the absence as documented, which is important for accurate attendance records.
Please note that simply calling to excuse your child without a doctor’s note will count as an excused absence, not a documented one. Documented absences are essential in certain cases to avoid any potential attendance issues.
Thank you for helping us keep our records accurate and supporting your child’s attendance!

Hello Adams Family!
The holidays can be both a wonderful and stressful time for families. We are here to support the over 600 families at Adams, in addition to all families in Wayne-Westland. If there is a need in your family for holiday assistance, please reach out to the Family Resource Center (FRC) and see their website for assistance. The FRC is conveniently located at Adams Middle School and can provide guidance for the specific type of assistance you are in need of.
Our Family Resource Center (FRC), provides free services to any student/family enrolled in our District. Services they provide are essential needs assistance, access to over 700 local resources, a Laundry Assistance Program, and material items for those unable to afford them (emergency toiletries, socks/underwear, hats/gloves/scarves, etc.) They can also supply school supplies and backpacks year-round for any WWCS student. Please contact our Family Resource Center at 734-419-2709 or FRC@wwcsd.net. Our FRC also has a Digital Request for Services Form, which can be used to request assistance by filling out a simple form. Please contact the Family Resource Center directly with additional questions regarding their services. https://www.wwcsd.net/resources/our-families/family-resource-center/
Adams Students - Are you getting enough sleep? Sleep has a major impact on your mood and readiness for school. Try a regular bedtime routine avoiding screens within 30 minutes of bedtime. Also, make sure you keep a consistent bedtime routine and sleep schedule over the long breaks!
We wish you and our family a safe and memorable holiday season!
