Principal's Message
Dear Ross Roadrunner Families,
I hope you are enjoying summer with family and friends. Our family is heading to Maine for our annual dose of fresh air and lakeside adventures.
We look forward to seeing you at our "Sneak a Peek" open house on Friday, August 25 from 2:30-3:30pm. Meet the teachers, check out the classrooms and enjoy a popsicle on the playground with Ross staff and PTA leaders.
First Day of School for K-5 is Monday, August 28. Morning recess begins on the field at 8:20am.
First Day of School for PK4 is Thursday, August 31. Drop off in the classroom begins at 8:30am.
Incoming PK4 families will hear from Ms. Chelak, PK4 teacher, in mid-August to schedule a home visit/family conference.
Once school is in session, you will receive a weekly Principal's Bulletin from me.

EDCJCC After Care and Enrichments Updates
Dear EDCJCC After School Families,
I know that it’s still the height of summer, but registration for our Fall 2023 session will be opening on August 7th (time is TBD but will most likely be at 11:00am. I will know for certain next week and will send an update). There are several things that you need to know about registration this time around, so please read this email carefully, save it for reference.
MY EDCJCC (our new registration portal)
We are launching a new website and registration portal, My EDCJCC, which will be a bit of an adjustment for everyone but will make registering for all JCC programs much easier in the long run. Finally, we will have one integrated system for after school classes, camp, parent workshops, swim lessons, Jewish Family Engagement events, and everything else! This system will go live Tuesday evening, July 25th. Our recommendation is to create your account at that time. Registration for Fall After School will open on Monday, August 7th and will be a MUCH smoother process if you have already created your account.
CREATING YOUR ACCOUNT (you can do this as early as Tuesday evening July 25)
You will all need to create accounts in our new system in order to register for Fall After School. Please follow these steps in order to do so:
- Once the system goes live, you will go to https://edcjcc.my.site.com and see the option to “Create Account.” Please use the email address where you are receiving this email. You will then receive an email confirmation prompting you to create a password for your account from noreply@edcjcc.org (check your spam folder if you don’t see it immediately in your inbox). Click on the link in the email and complete sign-up! The link in the welcome email is good for 7 days.
- Once you have created your password and logged into your account, you will likely see information already populated in your Household record. Anyone who had an account in our prior registration systems (like campminder) has been brought over into the new system already. HOWEVER, please take a few minutes to check and update the information in your account ESPECIALLY your child’s age and grade which will be used for registration. You may not be able to register for after school if the age is inaccurate. Use the Create New Contact option to add household members. Make sure that all adults have up-to-date contact information and that all children have accurate birthdates. And please store a valid credit card on file as payment method under “Stored Accounts” prior to the August 7th date.
- On July 25th when this all goes live, you should be able to see all the after school program offerings and prices for member and non members. I am planning to send another email to you all reminding everyone to create their accounts and play around in the portal. If for some reason the program offerings are not yet available to view, an email with all the enrichments and pricing will be sent out.
REGISTERING FOR FALL AFTERSCHOOL 2023 (starting August 7th)
Once you have created and updated your account, sign in and then click on “Sign Up for Upcoming Programs.” You’ll see a list of Category options on the left side of the screen – select Youth & Family. Then select “School-Aged Programming” as the program to see all the Fall options.
To register in an individual class, expand the options and select the class option you want. Please note the following:
- It will prompt you to select which of your household members should be registered. Please select the CHILD, not the parent in this option.
- If you want to register more than one child for the same class, select both children. If you are registering more than one child for after school, please use the Discount Code “sibling” when checking out and we will apply a 5% discount to your total.
- You can register for as many classes as you want at the same time – the system uses a shopping cart model, so you will see the shopping cart in the top right corner with a timer.
Calendar
Attached is the Fall 2023 Calendar with important dates that the EDCJCC After School is closed due to holidays, center-wide events, and DCPS school closures.
Please let me know if you have questions!
Best,
Arielle
