RAFFERTY'S RECORDS
Hello Wonderful Bobcat Community,
It is that time in May where all of our exciting events happen!
First, thank you to everyone who made this week so special for all the staff here at Santa Rita. I big shout out to Kelly Sanders-Lo for putting it all together.
Tonight is our final PTA meeting of the year at 7pm in the Multi. We would love to see many of you there.
Tomorrow, Santa Rita has 2 exciting assemblies! The first is Taiko Drummers who will be here during morning assembly. ALL are welcome to stay and watch. Second, the school will be walking over to Egan to watch our Santa Rita actors in Aladdin and a pre-show by Kinder through 2nd graders.
Aladdin will also be performed on Saturday at 7 pm and Sunday at 2 pm in the Egan Gym. Hope to see many of you there. You can buy Aladdin Tickets on line for $20 or at the door for $25.
Next Tuesday, is our final STEM Challenge at lunch. Students do not need to build or bring anything, just come to the multi after eating. Parents, we would love for you to come and help. Please email Mrs. Rafferty if you can attend, krafferty@lasdschools.org.
Next Thursday is Family Fun, Art Show and Open House!

Next Friday is a Minimum Day - Dismissal 12:15 and no school Monday the 27th.
Though we have many more events in the next few week, I also want to be sure that you know the last day of school, dismissal is at 11:30 for TK-5th grades.

Pick up Student Medication by June 5
A reminder that if your child has medications/health supplies at school that must be picked up by June 5 from the front office.
We cannot store medications over the summer. If you are leaving before school ends, please pick up medications early.
An adult must pick up medication.
Last Chance for Discounted Aladdin Tickets!
Our annual musical "Aladdin Jr" will be on Saturday, May 18th @7pm and Sunday, May 19th @2pm! Opening each performance, a group of K through 2nd graders will preform a pre-show.
All shows will be at Egan Junior High School (100 W Portola Ave., Los Altos, CA 94022; Multipurpose Room)
Tickets are $20 each for sale ONLINE NOW: Aladdin Tickets
Online orders close on Friday, May 17th (3pm). Tickets can be purchased at the door for $25 each (credit card, cash or check accepted), while supplies last.
Santa Rita's Annual Science Olympiad- Volunteers Needed!
Calling all Bobcats and Alums! Mark your calendars! Santa Rita’s Annual Science Olympiad is on Wednesday, May 29!
This special event brings students together to use scientific concepts to tackle real-world problems. Participants learn the practical applications of science and the scientific method in a series of fun, collaborative challenges.
This year's events are Aerodynamics, Copy Cats, Cranium, Marshmallow Challenge, Super Straw Structures, Clay Boats, Memory Lane, and Code Breakers.
To make this a fun day for our 4-6th-grade Bobcats and teachers, we need your help! Grab a few friends, join the fun! This is a community event unique to Santa Rita, and an annual tradition!

Santa Rita Art Show!
March with Santa Rita at the Los Altos Pet Parade
Come march with Santa Rita in the Los Altos Pet Parade this Saturday the 18th! We will meet at 9:30am with a parade start time of 10am. Please meet at staging area G2 in downtown Los Altos (see following map). Bring your school spirit for this fun event!
2024 Trimester 3 District-Wide STEM Challenge
Calling all designers, builders, and creative thinkers (yes, that’s YOU)! Start forming a partnership, a group of 3, or a group of 4 and join us for tons of fun and excitement at our Trimester 3 district-wide STEM mystery challenge!
STEM Challenge
When: Tuesday, May 21
Time: Lunchtime
Where: Santa Rita Blacktop
You will have the opportunity to flex your creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills as well as brainstorm innovative solutions. This event will be a “build up, take down” challenge. You will have the opportunity to explore, experiment, and build and will be asked to take down your design at the end of the event. All of the materials and instructions for the challenge will be provided on the day of the event.

You spoke, and we listened! 459 LASD parents participated in our recent survey to determine how well LAEF-funded programs for STEM, Wellness, Literacy, and Arts are meeting the needs of our students this school year. Check your email for the LAEF Survey results or visit LAEFonline.org.
Take advantage of our Challenge Match before time runs out!
Donate to LAEF today. Thanks to the generosity of five families, every dollar you donate to LAEF will get DOUBLED, up to $32,000 through May 31, 2024. We still need to raise $150K to fully fund teachers for key programs this school year.
Can you help represent Santa Rita on the LAEF Board for the 2024-25 school year? Join a fantastic group of parents who work together to keep our nine LASD schools strong. Los Altos Bike Events!
Los Altos Bike n Dine - May 17, 5-8 pm
Team up with friends, family and neighbors to experience a fun-filled evening of biking, dining, and community-building at the Downtown Los Altos Bike n' Dine! Once you arrive Downtown, visit our event hub at Veterans Community Plaza (junction of Main and State Streets)
We'll have music, activities for children, and can safely park your bike at our "bike valet" while you explore the vibrant downtown area on foot. We'll also share event swag including exclusive dining discounts and offers from downtown restaurants.

Bike Month Scavenger Hunt in Los Altos and Los Altos Hills
Explore Los Altos and Los Altos Hills, on your bike, scooter, or by foot.
To participate:
- Find a minimum of 4 items on the scavenger sheet,
- Take a picture or a selfie of the item, ideally with your bike.
