Fun VS. Instructional Time
Both. Right?!
I was talking with Dr. Steiner, who I see at the gym along with her husband. Sidenote.... Dr. Steiner is Corrine Price's grandmother :). Dr. Steiner was my 7th grade Math teacher....and she was NO JOKE. I would play around with a lot of teachers, but there was no way I was acting up in there. I learned more Math than in any other year in the rest of my education.....not even close. She was all business. However, she reminded me in the gym this morning when I saw her......"You have to let the kids have fun when it is time to have fun. But you have to work when it is time to work." So simple. So right.
Dr. Weber getting down to business teaching the students and the teachers.
Students and teachers were learning from our consultant, Dr. Cathleen Weber, how to perform better on extended response questions in Mathematics. These problems are no walk in the park, however, the kids were prepped very well for this lesson, as Dr. Weber indicated. This training, along with others, should help us score better this winter and spring on our assessments.
Cafeteria Celebration - Combined Halloween
Our Cafeteria is Awesome!
They are always doing fun things for the kids. A message from our Cafeteria Staff: This week we go into National School week with a fun Pirate theme, we have also combined another aspect of school lunch which is Dairy. The St. Louis Dairy Council has also started a theme with Daisy the Cow. So with these fun themes we have combined the two to make it a fun week. We will be taking fun pictures throughout the week as well as have a few special surprises towards the end of the week. Below is a small informational paragraph about NSLP. National School Lunch Week The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) serves nearly 30 million children every school day. President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a childβs life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom. #NSLW24 will be celebrated October 14-18, 2024.
That's a real moo moo! :)
That's not a real moo moo, but the kids loved them!

Thank you PTO and the New Berlin Community!!
The Elementary Library would like to thank the PTO and the families who support the Book Fair. The purchases made during the book fair support our school in numerous ways but our favorite is new books for the library. Here is a sampling of the new titles that have been added to our collection this fall.
Student Council Members Activate to Help with Our Veteran's Day Activities!
The following students who were recently elected to the Student Council have been busy. They have been collecting donations for Military Personnel around the world! They also are currently collaborating to interview Veterans who work for the school district. Said video will be shown at school to inform our students about what a Veteran is, and how we should honor them. Way to go Student Council!

Library Bags
πππIn the next week or so, our students will be bringing home library books in a designated library bag. This bag has been specifically provided to each student for the purpose of transporting their library books throughout the school year.
The primary goal of this initiative is to assist students in keeping track of their books, ensuring they are well-maintained, and minimizing the occurrence of lost or damaged items.
We kindly ask parents not to dispose of the library bags when they come home. These bags are an integral part of our library book management system and will be used throughout the school year. πππ
