Kinder Round-Up
Kinder Round-Up? Yes the day has past, but you can still schedule a tour and register your 5 year old or soon to be 5 year old. Come visit the office staff and teachers (if you visit during kinder planning). Braun Station has a lot going on. Come join the fun!
We are still looking for volunteers to help with American Sign Language initiative. We need parents to help label objects throughout the campus with their corresponding ASL sign. If you have a few minutes give us a call.
Parents don't forget that Friday February 7th from 7:00 - 8:30 PM is the annual BSE PTA Valentine Dance. Tickets will go home this Friday in your student backpack.
Thank you for your continued support!

February 2025
This month, we will celebrate National School Counselors Week from February 3-7 and Random Acts of Kindness Week from February 10-14.
The goal of our Random Acts of Kindness Celebration is to inspire our school and community to embrace kindness as a lifelong habit. This initiative encourages children to engage in acts of kindness, recognize kindness in others, and reward positive behavior.
Kindness is contagious, impacting both the giver and the receiver. It has the power to change hearts! By showing kindness to one another, we can create a meaningful difference in our lives. Treating others as we would like to be treated fosters unity and strengthens relationships. Through random acts of kindness activities, children can experience the transformative power of kindness firsthand.
"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." – Aesop

Happy Month of Love, Bobcat Families!
Check out what your child is learning in his/her grade level this month:
Graphing ordered pairs on the coordinate plane and relating them to input-output tables; moving into their unit on measurement involving perimeter, area, and volume.
Help support your Bobcat by asking questions, having dialogue, and encouraging him/her to complete their ST Math puzzles! Remember that Kinder & 1st grade Bobcats need to complete at least 80 puzzles each week and 2nd-5th grade Bobcats need at least 90 puzzles each week.
We will be celebrating our Bobcats with a fun surprise ST Math Color Run of Champions on Thursday afternoon, 2/13. All teachers were notified who qualified to participate so please ask your Bobcat(s) if he/she will be running for fun! This is just a fun way to reward those Bobcats that have really been keeping up with their puzzles each week since the beginning of the school year. As always, thank you for your support at home, Bobcat Families!
Y'all are simply the BEST!

PBIS January Focus: Setting Goals and Building Momentum
January is a time for fresh starts and new opportunities! This month, our PBIS focus is on setting goals and building positive habits that will carry us through the rest of the school year. Let’s work together to make this month—and year—one of growth and success for every Bobcat.
Recognizing Goal-Setting and Effort
Bobcat P.R.I.D.E. Wall: This month, we’re celebrating students who demonstrate determination, focus, and effort toward their goals. These standout Bobcats will be featured on our P.R.I.D.E. Wall, serving as an inspiration to others as we kick off the new year.
Parent’s Corner: Encouraging Goal-Setting at Home
Thank you, parents, for supporting your children in building positive habits and reaching for their goals. Here are a few ways to help at home this January:
Set Family Goals: Create a list of goals together as a family. Whether big or small, achieving goals as a team can help build motivation and a sense of accomplishment.
Celebrate Progress: Acknowledge and celebrate milestones, no matter how small, to encourage continued effort and a positive mindset.
Celebrating December Successes: Positive Behavior Wins
December was filled with great achievements and positive behavior!
Cafeteria Rewards: Eight classrooms earned the Cafeteria Movie Reward for outstanding behavior, enjoying a fun 30-minute movie with snacks.
Golden Awards: Congratulations to Mrs. McBee’s and Mrs. Grimes’ classes for winning the Golden Broom and Golden Spoon Awards for their exemplary cleanliness and respect in the cafeteria.
Thank you, parents and staff, for helping us start the new year strong with a focus on goals and success. Let’s make January a month to remember—go Bobcats!

Art Adventures
Bobcat artists have been working hard on their projects for our school wide art show. Your child (k-5) will have the opportunity to be brave and be proud as they present their artwork to friends and family in the audience. My students have already expressed their excitement in wanting to share his or her creative process at our unique "walking art show". Please join us for this special art filled night on February 11 following a short PTA meeting. This year our projects were inspired by the word garden. See you there!

Bobcat Music
Mallets on the floor, hands in the air, hands on your head, hands in your lap. This phrase is being used a lot in our classes as everyone is learning the basics of playing on the xylophones and metallophones.
Our kindergarten students are taking the steady beat with nursery rhymes and playing them on the instruments. First graders are using these instruments and learning how to make stories come alive by using their mallets to walk, run, slide, and skip. Second grade is learning to use both mallets on contrary motions and similar motion. Third graders got to meet some aliens from outer space with their story, and Fifth grade is doing some amazing playing with songs from a book called Hot Marimba! Fourth Grade parents, I know you are really excited that your child brought home their first instrument of their own, the recorder. I promise you they will get better and I am also showing them how they can practice without playing a note!
Something to look forward to and mark your calendars is May 24th. We will once again be singing the National Anthem at the San Antonio Missions Baseball game. The Missions are also going to an online ordering system similar to the Spurs. Once I get the ordering details I will start sending it out to all of you!
Have a wonderful day!!
