Principal Update
I hope you had a wonderful break with family and friends. As a reminder, during the month of December, we have quite a few days off at the end of the month, please keep in mind of our school calendar below.
In regards to our school attendance, we are seeing positive trends in our attendance, which is great! We want this momentum to keep going. We want to see your student in school and have them here each day consistently. If your student needs to be excused for the day or arrive/depart school at a different time, please remember to reach out to the Main Office via email or phone call.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesiate to reach out to me directly. Have a great weekend!
Gratefully,
Principal Hyer
Phones
Not using cell phones at DMMS is going really well! We appreciate the dedication and efforts from students and families to not have phones out during school. Please keep up the great work and continue to remind your student/s the expectations of no phones during school.
Winter Weather Gear
Please make sure your student/s have appropriate weather gear for recess outside! For students to be able to be outside, they need to wear winter clothing and dress appropriate for the weather, such as hat, gloves, mittens.
If you are in need of winter weather gear and need support, please reach out to our school social worker, Rachel. She will be glad to get winter gear.
PBIS Update
Data Snapshot for PBIS!
Our building in numbers for PRIDE Slips: 10,576 = Total # of PRIDE slips so far this year!
Way to go, keep it up!
Drop Off And Pick Up
Construction will continue throughout the 2024-25 school year as work on the new pool progresses. Construction fences and concrete barriers (see attachment remain in place around the parent drop-off/pick-up area.
To help reduce congestion on Howard Drive and in the DMMS parking lot, we offer the following suggestions:
Student Pick-Up and Drop-Off Areas:
School Lot: Please use both lanes and take turns merging near the pick-up/drop-off area.
Crossview Church: Please enter the parking lot and find a parking space. DO NOT stop or park in the roundabout, as this may result in a ticket.
Caswell North: Please find a place to park and wait for your student. Students may use the trail from campus to Caswell North.
