School Mission: High levels of learning for all students
Dear Families and Caregivers,
It’s hard to believe, but we are officially down to the final 21 days of school! As we approach the end of the school year, we want to encourage all students to attend school each day and stay actively engaged in their learning. These final weeks are a valuable opportunity for students to continue growing and to finish strong—ready for promotion to the next grade level. A healthy daily routine, including plenty of sleep and balanced nutrition, can make a big difference in student's social, emotional, and academic growth. Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting your student’s success. Let’s make these last few weeks count!
Spring Fest Fun
Despite the drizzly weather, the PTO Spring Fest event last week was a huge success! Students and their families enjoyed a scavenger hunt, face painting, a reptile exhibit, great food, and more. Most of all, these events are such a great opportunity to connect with one another. Thank you to the Discovery and Hedden PTO boards, as well as community and teacher volunteers, who make these events possible. You are appreciated!
District Art Show
We are proud to announce that Discovery Primary School will be participating in the District Art Show this year! Ashlee Ceder has been hard at work painting our school banner - it's a true work of (he)art! We are beyond grateful she has shared her artistic talent with us. Additionally, each of our classes submitted approximately 15 pieces of artwork to be displayed. Finally, our choir led by Ms. Gray will perform at 6pm. The District Art Show is this Thursday, May 22nd, from 5-7pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
Memorial Day Break
Don't forget our schools will be closed this Friday, May 23 and Monday, May 26th in honor of Memorial Day. We hope you have a safe, wonderful weekend!
Let's make it another great week, together!
Warmly,
Alisha Maulding, Principal
Danielle Waters, Assistant Principal
