Naviance
For the next several weeks Del Norte counselors will be working with our current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students reviewing their transcript, course selection for next year, and progress toward graduation and college requirements. During the same meetings the Guidance Tech and Counseling Assistant will be offering Naviance lessons.
Naviance is an Internet-based program that our Del Norte Counseling Department uses as a means of communication and planning with students and parents. Naviance is a comprehensive college and career readiness solution for students that help connect achievement with post-secondary goals.
Naviance provides the following services:
- College Search assessments and links to specific college information.
- Career assessments
- College representative high school visitation schedule
- E-mail messages and newsletters from the Counseling department
- Enrichment programs and summer opportunities
- Extensive scholarship database
- Occupational search/internship opportunities
- Acceptance/Attendance historical data, scattergrams and college compare.
- And so much more!

All current students have a Naviance account and during our lessons will review the log-in process.
How to Sign into Naviance or Reset your Password:
Parents: must have a current email on file in Synergy to access Naviance. If registering for the first time, please contact the Counseling Department and a temporary password will be sent to your email. Parents, your User ID will be your current email that is on file with the school. If you need to reset your password, please click on the "Forgot your password" link and a temporary password will be sent to you. You will be prompted to set the password to the minimum requirements outlined below.

AP - TESTING VOLUNTEERS
Del Norte High School is in need of parent volunteers (unpaid) to monitor students during on-campus AP exams, scheduled May 6 through May 16. The commitment per test is four (4) hours. Please sign up if you are available for any of the test sessions - even one session would be very helpful. You time and assistance is greatly appreciated - thank you so much!

Elect Her Student Training at Poway Unified School District
A one-day nonpartisan training for women* on how to run for student government & political office.
April 26, 2024, 8 am - 11 am
Poway District Office Community Room, 15250 Avenue of Science, San Diego CA 92128
Presented by the non-profit Running Start and made possible by Poway Unified Career Technical Education and the Westview High School PTSA. Transportation to the event is on your own, but transportation back to your school is available.
*Please Note, training is open to all students who are comfortable in a space that centers on the experiences of young women
Kickstart your political journey in one day!
Your leadership journey can start right now at Elect Her, where you will:
Learn about the importance of women running for office.
Develop and give an elevator speech about an issue you care about.
Map out your network and start assembling a team to help you run.
Meet elected leaders in your community.
Leave the training with a plan to run for office - now or in the future!
Students do not need to currently hold any formal or informal leadership positions or be currently involved in student organizations.

STUDENTS
Exploring College Options is a special informational program sponsored by the undergraduate admissions offices of five of the country's leading universities: Duke University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Stanford University.
Representatives from each university will present information about their institution, discuss the application process, and answer questions on how to put together a strong and reflective application. Each program will end with breakout sessions where representatives will answer questions about their specific school and the application process. We are offering both in-person and virtual programs, with each program featuring the same content.

YOUTH AI INNOVATION AWARD 2024
My name is Linran Yu, organizer of the EJ Youth AI Innovation Award 2024 by Global Innovation Center.
We are excited to announce an upcoming speech competition: My Cool Ideas Using AI to Change the World. This competition aims to inspire creativity and innovation among students by exploring the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to address global challenges. Participation in this competition not only provides students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity and critical thinking skills, but also offers a platform for them to engage with peers who share their passion for innovation. Here are some key details about the competition:
路 Theme: My Cool Ideas Using AI to Change the World
