At South San Antonio ISD, we pride ourselves in creating an environment for students to immerse themselves in Hispanic culture. At Shepard Middle School, sixth through eighth grade students have the exciting opportunity to join the mariachi group, where they learn the history of Hispanic music, how to play an instrument, and what it means to be the heart of their campus.

CARE Zone (carezone@southsanisd.net) is located at 2454 W. Southcross, San Antonio, TX 78211. Since opening our doors in 2019, have offered no-cost mental wellness services. These evidence-based services include: individual, group, family, and substance abuse counseling, as well as psychiatry, and community education groups.
