Quantum Family Connection
Week of November 4, 2024
Hello Quantum Families,
Thank you for all of your support of our Fundraiser and Color Run event! We hit our goal of raising $18,000 for our PTA which supports our Explore/Elements classes and our community events. We appreciate the donations and efforts around making this fundraiser and this event successful! We are making the final tallies and will follow up with individual prizes, class prizes, and of course scheduling our dunk tank!
We have a School Site Council Meeting tonight at 6pm on Google Meet. The meeting is open to the public. See the School Site Council agenda here.
We have collected many lost and found items. If your Quark is missing anything, especially outerwear, please check out Lost and Found Bin, located outside Rm 2. Items will be displayed before Thanksgiving Break, then donated.
There is no school on Monday, November 11th in honor of Veteran’s Day. We thank all veterans for their service, especially Mr. Flores and Mr. Gombert.
Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week is next week! Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention awareness campaign in the United States. Millions of people participate in this week-long event During this time, people participate in anti-drug events designed to educate youth about the dangers of drugs. Here at Quantum, students will be exposed to age-appropriate content regarding how to live a healthy and drug-free life. We’ll also have spirit days, our student store, and lots of ways to earn Quark Leader Cards throughout the week.
Red Ribbon Week Spirit Days:
Tuesday 11/ 12 - Wear something that represents what you love to do! (Cycling, skateboarding, surfing, cooking, reading, painting, etc.)
Wednesday 11/13 - Twin/Triplet/Quadruplet/etc. Day
Thursday 11/14 - Dress like a kindergartner
Friday 11/15 - RED Day - The bold color of self confidence
ALSO - Accessorize with pins and stickers that represent what brings you confidence!
This week is also an opportunity for parents to initiate discussions about fostering a drug-free future for our children. Here's an informative blog called Building a Drug-Free Future: What Parents Need to Know About Red Ribbon Week, from Cyber Safety Cop, which provides practical advice to help you talk to your kids about the dangers of drugs and alcohol and how to make the most of Red Ribbon Week.
