Active Student Citizens
- On May 28, juniors Rachelle Candamil, Litzy Gramajo, Melani Linares and Mia Rodriguez presented their Student Civic Leadership Capstone Projects at the Port Chester-Rye Brook Library. Veteran Rye Neck theater director/teacher Pat Rinello--who is now the co-president of the Rye, Rye Brook, Port Chester League of Women Voters (sponsors of the program)--was there to celebrate with our student citizens. She said: "Their projects were outstanding. They collaborated with Blind Brook, Rye City and Port Chester students and they were all very supportive of each other." See pic here!
- Women supporting Women: Co-founders and co-presidents of the Women in Business Club, Natalie Silva and Maya Sperling have been hard at work this spring! The prom dress drive they organized gathered 76 dresses and required TWO trips to Sharing Shelf! In addition, the bracelet selling competition held among club members raised $1,000.00. CBRE, a local real estate company matched the funds, and all together, $2000.00 was donated to Girls, Inc., an international organization that encourages all young women to be "smart, strong and bold." See pics here!

Free and Reduced Lunch Summer Program
Beginning in Summer 2024, New York State is implementing Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT), a new federal program to help low-income households with children purchase food over the summer when school is out of session and children can no longer rely on access to free/reduced-price school meals. If you are already receiving free/reduced-price meals, you will be automatically enrolled in this program. For more information, and to find out if your family qualifies if you do not currently receive free/reduced-price meals, click here: https://otda.ny.gov/programs/summer-ebt/
