School Counseling News!
Parents Be Aware: Importance of Attendance
Parent as we continue to look at the long-term impact of attendance on our students moving beyond Rock Ridge High School, we believe it is important to remind student and parents that attendance is recorded on the transcript. Each year in which a student took a high school course attendance is reflected. If a student took a high school course in middle school, attendance for that year is reflected. When colleges see negative patterns or gaps in attendance it may not put student in the best place in the application process. Similarly, we have seen an increase in interest in attendance as employers do background checks, security clearances and references for past graduates. Whether they were a student 6 years ago or a year ago.
