WEEKLY MESSAGE
Dear Willard Families,
I can't believe we are at the end of the school year. This time is always bittersweet as we look to say goodbye for the year, but are also excited about summer break. We have had such a wonderful year with your students and we have enjoyed continuing to build our community. We have learned, played, explored, discovered, danced, and so much more! Now it is time to rest, play, and enjoy summertime.
As always, I encourage your students to read every day! There is nothing more important that your child could do to support their success now and in their future. We also strongly encourage your children to put their screens down and play outside, get dirty, scrape a knee (ok, maybe not that last one!) This does so much to build their creativity, resilience and social-emotional skills...something a screen will never be able to do.
We would also like to congratulate our promoting 5th grade students for reaching this important milestone in their education. We have seen you grow and overcome challenging circumstances with great resilience. We are so proud of you and hope to hear about your next adventures!
Above all, on behalf of the Willard staff, we wish you and your family a fantastic summer break, filled with sunshine, fun, and family. We look forward to seeing you in August!
Congratulations!
Last week, we celebrated our IB Units 5 and 6 Awards, our IB Child of the Year Awards, and our 5th Grade Achievement Awards. It is always a joy to celebrate the hard work of our students. Feel free to see the pictures in the links.
Congratulations, Mr. Howard!
Please join me in congratulating Mr. Howard on his marriage this past week! The newlyweds came to say "hello." We're so happy for you, Mr. and Mrs. Howard!

REMINDERS
Uniform Dress Code Policy
We would like to remind everyone that Willard has a Uniform Dress Code Policy. We have a number of students not adhering to our Uniform Policy. We will begin enforcing Dress Code policy, asking students to change, and calling home.
Why Uniform Dress Code?
Uniforms contribute to a positive school climate. Students are less distracted by what they or their peers are wearing and focus better on school. This reduces potential bullying and peer conflict. It also helps create community and cohesion as a school. (Uniforms, also, make morning dress routines easier as there is no need to decide what to wear.)
Neighborhood School Registration
Every child living within PUSD boundaries is assured placement in their neighborhood school Find My School. Through PUSD’s annual Open Enrollment, families can apply for their children to attend one of the district’s signature programs or schools. Some key 2023-2024 Enrollment Calendar Dates:
Ongoing Neighborhood school registrations begin for:
New to PUSD TK-12 students who prefer their neighborhood school.
Current PUSD students who are advancing to 6th or 9th grades and prefer to attend their neighborhood school. PUSD school locator
Preschool programs, including full and half-day, and dual language immersion are offered at select locations: pusd.us/ece.
