February, 2025 Updates
Principal's Corner
Dear Families,
It is hard to believe that the second month of 2025 is already upon us. As I reflect upon the past year, I have enjoyed the relationships that I’ve built with your children (and with you!) and I am grateful for the dedicated team of staff that we all work with every day. I look forward to what lies ahead this year: continuing to provide meaningful opportunities that foster growth and development for our youngsters, sending off our soon-to-be 2025/2026 kindergartners (who will be 2038 high school graduates!), welcoming new families into our Early Childhood family and continuing the powerful work that we do together as partners in your child’s early education. I have no doubt that it will be an exciting year!
As a reminder:
- In observance of our District's Mid-Winter Break, Early Intervention, ECSE, SXI, GSRP and Fee-Based preschool students do not have school February 14th - 18th. Child care is still in session.
Until next month...
Warm Regards,
Jen Kidd
Important Parking Lot Reminders
For the safety of everyone, please remember to watch your speed, yield to pedestrians, and avoid texting/using your cell phone in our school parking lots.
As always, we appreciate your support and commitment to helping our school community stay safe.
Free Vision, Hearing and Dental Screenings
Did you know that we partner with the Oakland County Health Department to offer free in-house vision, hearing and dental screenings for all 4 year olds in our building? Michigan Law requires that all students obtain these screenings prior to enrolling in Junior Kindergarten or Kindergarten. Hearing screenings have already been completed for our building. Vision screenings occur in April. Dental screenings are new this year and will occur in May. More information will be forthcoming. Families always have the option to opt out of these screenings at school if they choose to. They will then be responsible for ensuring that students receive these screenings elsewhere prior to enrolling in elementary school.
We are grateful for our partnership with the Oakland County Health Department and appreciate all that they do for our students and their families.
