Welcome to Carroll Leadership in Technology Magnet Middle School where we empower student leaders to dream, learn, lead, and innovate. Every student at Carroll is uniquely capable and deserves to be challenged and engaged in rigorous and relevant learning opportunities that are grounded in collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity, and enhanced by a focus on meaningful digital integration, Dr. Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and skill-specific development of character strengths through the Positivity Project. We aspire to ensure that all student leaders are prepared to achieve their wildest dreams and lead productive lives as happy, healthy, resilient problem solvers in our very complex and changing world.

Accessing My Child's Schedule

Schedules can be accessed in PowerSchool, which is a Home Base application. All middle and high school students have access to Home Base. Home Base is accessed through each student's WakeID portal. Instructions on how to access these applications can be found here | en español.


New students to WCPSS will need to request their WakeID from school staff.

Power School Access for Parents

Step 1. Complete the access request forms.

Hand deliver the completed access request form to the school. Notarized forms can be mailed to your child’s school. Download the notary public form or the photo ID form. Check with your school to make sure a notarized form is being accepted.

Step 2. Wait for your access letter and instructions.

Once your child's school has verified your forms, they will provide you with a welcome letter with a link to a Quick Guide

Step 3. Create a Parent Portal account.

Use the information you received in your letter to create your Parent Portal account. For help creating an account, download directions (links below). When you are ready, you can create an account here: wcpss.powerschool.com/public.

Step 4. Link your students to your account.

Once you’ve created your Parent Portal account, use the access ID and password provided on the letter from the school to view your child’s data. Does your access ID and password still not work? Make sure you’ve created your Parent Portal account first. Still having issues? Download and read the directions.

Step 5. Need Help?

Please review the FAQs below prior to contacting the school for assistance. Questions regarding grades can be e-mailed to your child’s teacher.

When will my child's schedule be viewable?

Schedules are currently available in PowerSchool.

Schedule Updates

While core teaming will not be impacted, core sequencing updates may occur throughout the week of August 17. Students will begin their assigned schedules on Monday, August 24.

Learning Management System

Carroll's Learning Management System is Empower. Once students begin their 2020-21 coursework, students and their families will be able to monitor academic progress, communicate with teachers, and receive at-a-glance pacing information.
Starting Monday, August 31, WCPSS will utilize Taking Points to provide direct lines of communication between our teachers and families. Until then, teachers will communicate with families via email and phone, as well as school-wide text updates.

Materials & Device Distribution

In recent days, #TeamKidsFirst has learned that our 1:1 iPad model will be supplemented with chromebooks for our incoming sixth grade students this school year. Keyboards will still be provided to seventh and eighth grade students who will continue to use iPads. Returning students who have an iPad in need of repair will be provided the opportunity to trade-in their devices during designated distribution days during the week of August 17. Materials distribution will be facilitated in our carpool, and device distribution will be hosted in our bus loop. Specific information about our Materials & Device Distribution events, including drive-thru maps, will be pushed out on Monday. If families are not able to participate, we will host a make-up day on Friday, August 21.
