MCPS STUDENT ATHLETE PHYSICALS
MCPS will be offering VHSL Student Athlete Physicals for $20.00 on Saturday, May 17 at Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Student athletes will need to sign up for a time slot by using the QR code on the attached flier. You can also gain access to this flier on the CHS Website under the "Athletics" tab.
You will also need to complete the VHSL Physical Form (attached below) when you attend the event. ONLY the first three pages need to be filled out and turned into Mr. Hunter (CHS Athletic Director).

2024-25 CHS LITERARY MAGAZINE IS COMPLETE

CHS MUSICAL - THE LIGHTNING THIEF - THE PERCY JACKSON MUSICAL
The CHS Music Department will be hosting "The Lightning Thief" on May 9, 10, and 11. Showtimes for each of these dates are as follows:
May 9 - 7:00 pm
May 10 - 7:00 pm
May 11 - 3:00 pm
If you are planning to attend, the cost for admission is $8.00 for a student and $10.00 for an adult. You may park in the Auditorium or Gymnasium Parking lots. If you park in the Auditorium parking lot, please enter through Door 30 (Loading Dock Entrance). If you park in the Gymnasium parking lot, please enter through Door #9 (Main Entrance).

NEW SUMMER SCHOOL COURSES
If your student would like to register for summer courses through VVA that is not a course they have previously taken or been unsuccessful in, please fill out the Google Form below:

NEW summer school courses will take place from May 27 - June 18. Classes will take place Monday - Friday (Friday will be online) from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm each day at Montgomery Central.
REPEAT SUMMER SCHOOL COURSES
CHS school counselors and administrators will be reaching out to students and families who may need to complete a repeat course during the 2025 Summer School session in order to remain on cohort or receive earn necessary credits for graduation.
Summer School will take place from June 2 - June 18. The last day to register for a course and have a designated bus stop is May 16, 2025. Students will meet Monday-Thursday from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm and will be held at Montgomery Central.
SENIOR AWARDS CEREMONY
The CHS Class of 2025 Senior Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday, May 16 from 10:00 - 11:30 am in the CHS Auditorium.
We understand that parking on campus for this event will be extremely difficult, so we are pleased to announce that VASAP, Horne Funeral Home, and the Holy Spirit Catholic Church have given permission for us to utilize their parking lots during the time of the ceremony. You can also utilize the new bus loop area and gravel lot beside the Corp of Cadets/Friends Building to park as well.
Please enter the building through the CHS Main Entrance (Door #9) or the CHS Loading Dock Entrance (Door #30) and come straight to the Auditorium.
GRADUATION FOR THE CLASS OF 2025
It is with great excitement that we would like to share the date, time, and location of the CHS Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2025. We have been given the tremendous opportunity again by MCPS and Virginia Tech to hold our 2025 graduation ceremony at Cassell Coliseum on the Virginia Tech campus.
The date of graduation will be on Saturday, May 24 at 8:30 am. The shift to VT again this year will allow us to have unlimited admittance of family members and friends for our graduates, significant parking opportunities, and a space that will not be affected by the change if inclement weather should arise.
Please review the "Senior Letter" below for additional information concerning graduation and end-of-the-year festivities. This information will be a "working" document and items will be updated as we get closer to the end of the school year.

END OF COURSE (SPRING) SOLS
The last instructional day of the 2025 Spring Semester will be Tuesday, May 20. End of Course SOL testing is scheduled to take place on May 21, 22, and 23 for students. Please review the attached letter for additional information and details regarding the schedule and expectations for the EOC testing window.
This is a reminder that only students who are testing need to attend on May 21- 23. Those students will be informed by their classroom teachers. It is also important to note that your child will not be allowed to take their non-writing SOL's prior to May 21. Any student who misses their SOL will have to take in the next test administration.
SUMMER OPERATION HOURS/LOCATION
After the completion of the 2024-25 school year, CHS will begin transitioning some of its classrooms/spaces to the new academic wing during the final week (May 19 - 23) and the following week (May 27 - 29).
MCPS schools will begin operating on a Monday - Thursday schedule beginning the week of May 26 - 30 with schools being closed on May 26 due to the Memorial Day holiday.
If individuals need to access the Administrative or Counseling Offices during the summer, you will be asked to park in the new CHS bus loop and enter the building through the NEW MAIN ENTRANCE.

EARLY RELEASE
MCPS schools will have an early release on Wednesday, May 7. Middle and high schools will be released at 12:20 pm. Elementary schools will be released at 1:20 pm.
