Bateman Buzz; VOL 1
2024-2025; VOL 1
2024-2025; Vol. 1
Dear Bateman Families & Friends,
We have had a great start to the 2024-2025 school year! This week the halls have been bustling with the sound of our students finding their classes, making new friends, and meeting their teachers. Our students came back eager to learn and modeled our core values in their actions everyday this week.
- Students were RESPECTFUL by following the Blaze Ways .
- They were CURIOUS about their new coursework and classmates.
- Students were INCLUSIVE by inviting new classmates to share cafeteria tables and meeting new friends in their classroom groups.
- Finally, today the halls were filled with students showing their Bateman PRIDE!
This has been a wonderful new beginning thus far and we hope all students have enjoyed their first week. If they are facing any challenges, please encourage them to see the school counselor or find any adult to help. We strive for all students to belong and feel safe at Bateman so let us know if there is anything we can do to help accomplish that goal for your student.
Warm regards,
Ms. Davos & Ms. Kloepper

A Message from our New Counselor, Ms. Hamilton!
Hello Bateman Elementary community!
My name is Ms. Hamilton(-Cotter), and I’m thrilled to join you as the new second school counselor! This starts my fifth year as a CPS school counselor, and I am familiar with the wonderful interventions and groups that have made this school shine. Though originally I’m a transplant from Maryland, I’ve loved making Chicago my home and am on a never ending quest to discover the best breakfast sandwich in the city—recommendations are welcome!
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if your student needs support with managing their feelings, exploring coping techniques, or any other concerns that may come up this school year. I’m here to help and look forward to working with all of you!
