Back to School 2024-25

I would like to welcome all Cayuse Families and all the new families that are joining us for the first time to the 2024-25 school year. My staff and I are looking forward to a wonderful school year full of kindness as this is our theme this year!

This newsletter includes LOTS of important information that you NEED to read. Please begin with the Student Handbook, then fill out the Student Handbook sign-off form. This is required for each family. Thank you for taking the time to do so.

Help us welcome new Kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Katie Jepson & Mrs. Denise Greiner, (pictured) to TEAM Cayuse! We are thrilled to have them joining our staff and working with Cayuse students and their families! Mrs. Jepson and Mrs. Greiner have sent out postcards to their students so families will know whose class their child is in very soon. Keep an eye on the mailbox! 😉

Staff that have new roles at Cayuse Prairie are: Mrs. Kaila Forster will be our new co teacher for 7th grade, Mrs. Becky Ahles is our Librarian on Mondays, and Mrs. Amy Piazzola will be teaching Kindergarten on Thursdays in Mrs. Greiner's class.

• Check out our NEW WEBSITE cayuseprairie.com It has nearly everything you need to know about Cayuse Prairie School and all the activities going on at our school. It's a great way to get to know your child(ren)'s teacher(s), too. PLEASE, CHECK IT for INFORMTATION BEFORE CALLING THE FRONT OFFICE!

• 4th-8th grades start school at 7:45 AM, LM/K-3rd starts at 7:55 AM
  
• Student Drop-off begins at 7:35 -7:45.
  
• 4th-8th grades start school at 7:45 AM, Drop-off at the back parking lot ENDS at 7:42 for grades 4th - 8th; after 7:42 students need to be dropped off in the front lot and come to through the office.
• LM/K-3rd starts at 7:55 AM. If LM/K - 3rd students aren't dropped off by 7:52 they will need to come to the office for entry.
• School ends at 3:45 PM. Pick-up begins at 3:40 for LM/K & 3:45 for everyone else.
• Busses will run at 3:55 PM.

CHANGE IS DIFFICULT, but especially after 3:00 at SCHOOL! We will not be able to make any transportation changes after 3:00 PM. There are a lot of things that happen at the end of the school day that make it TOO CRAZY for our office staff to run here and there to accommodate changes. Please plan your child's appointments, activities, and transportation then communicate via your child's planner with the teacher/office for smooth sailing all year long. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS REQUEST!

Bring your backpack with school supplies, meet your teacher(s), take an "I am the I in Kind" picture, tour our school garden, set up meal accounts, pay fees, get your middle school student's sports physical done, sign up to work concessions, get PAX Strategies & PAX Good Behavior Game Information for home use, learn how you can be involved at Cayuse Prairie School and more!
