PACK Guardians and Students,

It has been a great week at Hubbard! We have had a lot of awesome student achievements and are settled in nicely to the new building. Just two more weeks and there is Thanksgiving break! Help us keep the PACK focused between now and then.

AVID - Attention students and guardians, the AVID application window opens TODAY through November 22nd. If you are interested in becoming one of our AVID students and learning all the skills necessary to be prepared for life after high school, then make sure you apply online with this application link for Hubbard Middle School or Tyler Legacy High School if your student is a current 8th grader.

ONLINE APPLICATION WINDOW: November 1 through November 22, 2024

STUDENT INTERVIEW WINDOW: January 7 through January 21, 2025

Hot Dog Supper - Unfortunately, we had to make the call to cancel Hot Dog Supper due to the 50% chance of rain. BUT this just means we can postpone it to a beautiful spring day! We will have it, but did not want to waste such an awesome event on a drizzly day.

PARKING - The Burns Commercial property to the north and northwest of Hubbard is not intended for student pick up/drop off. The property managers have began handing out flyers to communicate to parents and have posted signs (pic below). Please do not use this for parent pick up. Once we have the bus lanes finished at Hubbard in the upcoming month, traffic flow will get even easier. Students should not loiter that property to be picked up later in the day, they can remain at the front of Hubbard as long as needed.

Leaving Early - If you are picking your child up early from school please do so by 3:15 p.m. We do not allow students to be checked out after 3:15 p.m. since this could hamper our dismissal procedures and ability to retrieve multiple students before the bell. The front office is closed between 3:15 and 3:45 p.m.

AVID Field Trips

This week we had two groups of AVID students go see Texas A&M and Stephen F. Austin University.

Bible Club

This morning a brave 6th grader, Vivi Havard, brought the message at Bible Club. Students, don't forget that this is every Friday at 7:45a.m. in the media center.

Players of the week

I missed these guys last week, so even though football season is over, we still want to highlight them!

Art Work

More student art work gets added every time I turn around! Thank you to our students for supplying wonderful projects for the trophy cases. This artwork is inspired by the yarn paintings of the Huichol Tribe of Mexico.

Tin Can Cafe

The Hot Dog Supper was going to have a cake walk and the Tin Can Cafe was baking it up to provide cupcakes. With the event being cancelled, the PACK got treated to some extra delicious free cupcakes!
