Corron Mission Statement
From the Principal
Our first two days at Corron have been wonderful! Students were excited to come in Wednesday morning, and there has been joy throughout the building ever since. Students have all learned about our expectations (Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Responsible, Be You) and what those look like throughout their day. They’ve done a great job of modeling those expectations as they move about the building for specials, recess, and lunch.
I know the first few days of arrival and pick-up can be a bit overwhelming, especially for our new families. I would like to mention just a few safety reminders:
The only place that parents and students can cross from the sidewalk to the parking lot is at the crosswalk where we have a staff member present to stop traffic. Please do not cross between cars, as this is very unsafe. Students MUST be accompanied by an adult to cross into the parking lot.
If waiting in the pick up line, please remain in the car and move up when the other cars move up. We will always have multiple staff members outside to help students find their cars. Also, please do not “double-park” to get your student.
Our staff considers safety for all of our students a number one priority, and we appreciate you helping us out.

Smartwatches and Phones
Technology can be a wonderful way to keep in touch with family members. However, smartwatches and phones can become quite disruptive to the learning environment when parents are contacting their children throughout the day (and vice versa). The Elementary Student Handbook contains the following language:
Students are extended the privilege of possessing phones/smartwatches on school grounds; however, their use is limited to after-school dismissal and non-school days. These devices must be in the off position, or not used once the student arrives on campus until the end of the school day.
Teachers will be requesting that students turn in their smartwatches and phones when they enter the classroom each day so that learning can continue uninterrupted. They will be kept in a secure location and handed back at the end of the school day.
If students do not follow the expectations regarding these devices, the watch or phone will be sent to the office for parents to come pick up.
