Dear Parent/Guardian,
Our students in grades seven and nine are required to participate in the California Physical Fitness Test (PFT). The FITNESSGRAM, created by The Cooper Institute, is the required annual PFT for students in California public schools. This health-related fitness test is intended to help students acquire lifelong habits of regular physical activity.
TEST DATE: Friday, March 7, 2025

TIME: 9th Grade Session 11:45-12:45 pm
7th Grades Session 12:45 - 1:45 pm

TEST GIVEN: The FITNESSGRAM includes tests for key areas of fitness: 1) Aerobic Capacity; 2) Abdominal Strength and Endurance; 3) Trunk Extensor Strength and Flexibility; 4) Upper Body Strength and Flexibility; and 5) Flexibility. There are two or three test options for most of the fitness areas of the FITNESSGRAM so that all students, including those with special needs, have the maximum opportunity to participate. California has removed the body composition fitness item hence we will not be collecting any gender, age, height or weight information.
TEST RESULTS: For each fitness area, student participation in each of the components is required. Their test results will be available by the end of this school year if they complete the test by April 30, 2025. These results will help students understand their individual levels of fitness.
