Hello Lester Families,
We hope you had a wonderful week! We are so proud of our students and staff for their hard work during e-learning. We also want to thank all of our families for making sure your children were on the calls and engaged in their learning. It takes a village and we appreciate you!
Next Wednesday will be our PTA meeting at 6:30 pm at Lester. We hope to see you there! We are also excited to share that we will begin our One School One Book program in March. Books and materials will go home per family on Thursday, February 27th. Please look for these materials in your youngest Lester student's backpack. This year, the One School One Book program will be combined with the Kane County Cougars reading program. Both are optional but a fun way to engage your family in shared reading while earning a free ticket to a Cougars game! Specific information is included in the packet that you will receive along with a letter explaining everything. We hope you will participate. A shout out and thank you to our PTA for funding the books for this wonderful program as well as taking the time to help stuff the bags so they are ready to send home. Thank you!
Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open. Please be sure that you register your child(ren) as soon as you know you will be returning. If your child(ren) will not be returning to Lester, please let our office staff know (jsteele@dg58.org & acushing@dg58.org) as soon as possible so that we can plan accordingly. District 58 would like to have all returning students registered by March so that we can plan for staffing for next year. We appreciate your help taking care of this. Directions on how to register are included below as well.
Many of our students created cards for senior citizens for Valentine's Day over the past couple of weeks. This was a way to show kindness to others in our community.
As a reminder, we do not have school on Monday in honor of Presidents' Day.
Wishing you a wonderful 3 day weekend :)
