WEEKLY WONDERS
Week of August 26, 2024
"There is no description, no image in any book that is capable of replacing the sight of real trees, and all the life to be found around them, in a real forest. Something emanates from those trees which speaks to the soul, something no book, no museum is capable of giving." - Dr. Maria Montessori
Pictured: The beloved oak tree in McCauley Park that has meant so much to the Ellis community for generations.
Thank you for your understanding as walker dismissal had to change this past week due to the removal of the oak. We appreciate everyone's cooperation and flexibility to these circumstances beyond our control.

School Counseling
Shoutout to our new Peer Mediators and Peer Mediation Classroom Representatives!
This week, a team of 25 (3rd-8th Grade) student leaders were trained as Peer Mediators, participating in 12 hours of training hosted by The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire. Peer Mediation is problem solving and conflict resolution by students with students. If your child or someone you know needs a referral for peer mediation, reach out to your teachers or to our school counselors.
Let us know if we can be of assistance to you and yours. Resources are available on the School Counseling Website including a list of mental health professionals.
