Resources for Teaching about Autumn, 2022
Falling Into Wellness: Embrace Healthy Habits This Autumn
As the crisp air of fall rolls in and the days grow shorter, it's the perfect time to refocus on wellness. With the change in seasons, our routines often shift, making autumn an ideal time to embrace healthy habits. Whether it's enjoying outdoor walks in cooler weather, savoring seasonal produce like pumpkins and apples, or preparing your body and mind for the upcoming holidays, fall offers plenty of opportunities to prioritize well-being. Taking small steps, like practicing mindfulness, staying active, and boosting your immune system, can help you maintain balance and thrive through the season.
Happy fall! 🌰 🍂
Our Fitness Lending Library is Expanding!
Many of you have come to know and love our Fitness Lending Library (FLL), which began in 2015 to reduce barriers to physical activity. We discovered that many employees find it challenging to make time for a fitness center, prefer working out at home or in the office, or lack the necessary equipment to start or enhance their fitness routines. In response, HealthyUNCG launched the FLL, offering a range of fitness equipment that UNCG employees can borrow at no cost. We even deliver the items and pick them up when employees are done or want to try something new. What started with just 12 items has now expanded to over 75 items and continues to grow!
As we've grown, we’ve embraced a more holistic approach to wellness. We're excited to introduce the HealthyUNCG Fitness and Wellness Lending Library, launching October 1st. In addition to fitness equipment, the library will now offer a variety of holistic wellness items, including grounding mats, vibration plates, infrared light therapy, percussion massage tools, and more. Stay tuned to our social media and listserv for details about the new items and their benefits. You can also email us or schedule a Teams meeting to learn more about how to use these resources.
Be on the lookout for more information, coming October 1st!
