Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome Back to a New School Year!
I hope you all had a wonderful and restful summer break, filled with fun, family time, and perhaps a bit of adventure! As we step into the new school year, I am thrilled to welcome both our returning families and those joining us for the first time. I am excited to begin this new chapter together.
The start of a school year always brings with it a sense of renewal and opportunity. The adults in school have been busy preparing their classrooms and planning engaging lessons that will inspire a love of learning in our pupils. We are committed to ensuring that each child feels supported, challenged, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
I encourage you to stay connected with us throughout the year. Our newsletter, website and MCAS will keep you informed about upcoming events, important dates, and highlights of pupil achievements. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns; our doors are always open.
Together, let's make this school year a memorable one filled with growth, learning, and success. I have enjoyed seeing the smiling faces of our pupils as they walk through the doors on the first days of school. They all look so smart and proud in their uniforms. The children have made an exceptional start to their school year. They have already began to show their resilience when embracing new challenges, being supportive to one another and striving to be the best we can be!
Thank you for your support and involvement in our school community. Here's to a fantastic year ahead!
Kind regards
Mrs Winter
Headteacher

Term Time Holidays and/or Irregular Attendance from 19th August 2024
As you will have read in the letter sent out yesterday the DfE have enforced stricter rules around pupils taking leave in term time and irregular attendance in all schools across England. These new rules come in from 19th August 2024 and will affect any time marked as unauthorised absence from September. Please take the time to read the new rules so you are aware of these changes before booking any holidays in school time.
Lyon Road
We have been informed that there will be roadworks on Lyon road near to the school entrance for a water leak between 12th and the 16th September. This may cause issues accessing the school gate on these dates.

Whistlestop Valley is a small narrow gage railway in Huddersfield, Yorkshire and is attraction mainly for children and families.
They will be running a relaxed train for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Our SEND Santa Express will have reduced capacity numbers and no flashing lights to make for a more relaxed sensory experience.
Tickets are available to book online. On our website we also have a new visual story to help prepare guests before they arrive about what they will see and where they will go on the day.
