Highland Weekly
April 11th, 2025
Hello Highland Families!
We've got another short week coming up next week! There is no school on Friday, April 18th. Additionally, after school clubs are cancelled all next week (Monday, April 14th-Friday, April 18th). Please ensure arrangements have been made to pick-up students at our regular release times. Thank you!
Prom is next Thursday! It is one of the highlights each school year, and it is so wonderful to see students dressed up in their formal wear. Student Leadership is excited to present Highland's Prom - "Under the Sea". Prom will take place at Fox Hollow Chalet on Thursday, April 17th (no school on Friday). Middle school students are invited to attend from 7-10pm and high school students can attend from 7-11pm. Tickets can be purchased in school with cash or check or through ParentConnect. Prices are $30 for one and $50 for two tickets. Tickets must be purchased in advance to attend. We are looking forward to an evening full of dancing, food, and fun!
Highland will be offering both in-person (middle and high school) and online (high school only) summer school options for students. Additional information and the link for registration can be found below. The last day to register for in-person classes is Monday, May 12th.
For your planning purposes, Intensives are scheduled for Tuesday, May 13th through Monday, May 19th. We will have early dismissal everyday at 2:00 during Intensives. During Intensives, all teachers will be teaching Advisory and both Intensive sessions. The early release will allow teachers a consistent planning period to plan and execute quality Intensive instruction and assessment. The course catalog for Intensives will be available in next week's Weekly.
Feel free to reach out with any questions. Have a great weekend!

Reporting Absences and Tardies
When your child is absent or tardy, please contact the school as soon as possible. The best way to report an absence is through Q/ParentConnect. You can also call the front office (907) 742-1700.
Cell Phone Policy
As a reminder, Highland implemented a revised cell phone or headphone/earbud policy last semester. Students are expected to have their earbuds/headphones put away and cell phones turned off and out of sight during class and passing time. They are permitted to use their device before school, during lunch, and after school. If a student has their cell phone or earbuds/headphones out in class or during passing time, regardless of the reason, teachers will confiscate the device to be stored at the front office for the rest of the school day.
Activity Fee
We request that all families pay a $150 supply and activity for the school year through Q/ParentConnection. These funds help pay for intensives, student-led activities, class sets, and more. If this is a hardship, or you would rather donate your time, we would be happy to work with you.
