First Year Teachers Receive Book Donations from Books-A-Million
Last week, the first-year teachers' cohort met at Books-A-Million to learn about Special Education and choose books for their school libraries. The books came from the BAM book drive held this summer. Thanks a million, Books-A-Million!

FCPS Representatives Attend First Responders Appreciation Breakfast
Last Wednesday, August 21, Fredericksburg City Public Schools attended the 8th Annual First Responders Appreciation Breakfast, hosted by the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce. FCPS is incredibly thankful for the contributions of these heroes who often go unrecognized. First responders play a crucial role in keeping all of us safe at home, at school, and in the community.

Upcoming Film Screening: "What I Wish My Parents Knew"
FREE Youth Mental Health Film Screening and Discussion
Please join us on Tuesday, September 17, at 5:30pm in the James Monroe High School Auditorium for a special viewing of What I Wish My Parents Knew, a film produced to help parents better understand how they can support their children's mental health. The first 25 families to register for the screening will receive the Tell My Story card game for free. Tell My Story is designed to enhance communication between parents and their teens around the topic of mental health.
Childcare will not be available for this event. Refreshments will be available.
