GIRLS TENNIS
Girls tennis is headed to the finals of the South Jersey Group 4 tournament! The team scored a close-as-it-can-be 3-2 win over Lenape on Thursday with three of the five varsity matches decided by tiebreakers. Freshman phenom first singles Sabina Giurca displayed grit in losing an extremely close 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 12-10 match. Camille More at second singles continued her winning streak with a 6-1, 6-2 win. Julie Denning at third singles stunned her opponent with a come from behind 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 10-8 win. First doubles Demi Lu & Belina Zhang lost a nailbiter 6-7 (2-7), 6-2, 10-4. Second doubles Lily Ferriola & Makayla Henderson clinched the win 7-5, 6-3. Next up is Cherry Hill East on Tuesday , 10/15 at home. Go Eagles!
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Girls' volleyball won both of their games this week. On Monday, all 3 levels defeated ACIT, spoiling their senior night. Senior Journey Green was on a mission and had 8 kills and 0 hitting errors. Junior Alyssa Hickey led the team with 6 aces and 7 assists.
Wednesday, we traveled behind enemy lines to Mainland and won in a tough 3 set battle. Senior Averie Harding had 10 kills and sophomore Kaylee Beck led the team with 15 assists. This brings varsity and JV to 16 wins and only 2 losses.
The varsity is now gearing up for the CAL tournament which starts with a home game against a TBD opponent Thursday afternoon.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
The EHT Girls Cross Country team had a great day on Saturday at Holmdel Park in the Shore Coaches Invational. The girls were 5th out of 28 teams in the Varsity "A" race and 18th overall among 132 schools! Paige Pacquing and Devyn Per medaled as they were 19th and 20th respectively. They both earned a place on the top ten list as they ran the 7th and 8th fastest Holmdel Park times in EHT history!
Carlee Steet also had a great day as she medaled in the freshman race as she was 12th. The freshmen were 9th among 16 freshman teams in the freshman "A" race.
EHT heads into championship season next week as they compete in the Atlantic County championships on Thursday.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
The boys cross country team competed at the Shore Coaches Invitational at historic Holmdel Park this past weekend. 132 teams competed and the boys finished in 28th place overall. Junior Matthew McDevitt was the first finisher for the boys. Chris Minshall won the JV boys race. And in the freshman race Timmy Rooney finished 4th overrall.

Monday night was Senior Night and the Eagles were excited to honor their comrades, family and friends. The Lady Eagles hosted cross-town rival, Holy Spirit, at Silver Eagle Stadium for the showdown. Pregame entailed a lovely ceremony to honor our six Senior players and two Senior Managers. Parents, family, friends and supporters joined each of our Seniors as they were announced, given flowers and had their picture taken with Mighty! Also joining in on the festivities were 25 future Lady Eagles from the EHT Soccer Club.
The game would kickoff at 6:30pm and the Eagles were off to a great start. Junior Brielle VonColln scored in the third minute off an assist from Captain Aniyah Parker. VonColln would go on to score two more goals throughout the game for a hat trick on the day. Freshman Jackie Brownlee would add two goals on the evening and Senior Aniyah Parker added a goal along with her assist. Evalyn Brown, Ava Kraybill, Ava Ferrara, Abby Mathis and Lauren Piskun each had an assist on the night. Senior Goalie, Abby Lyon, made two saves on the night for the win. The Lady Eagles improved to 12-1 on the season.

Back-to-back games are never easy, but the Eagles had to lace up their cleats 24 hours after celebrating their Seniors and beating Holy Spirit. The Lady Eagles welcomed Division foe, Vineland, to Silver Eagle Stadium Tuesday night. The Eagles did not waste much time getting on the scoreboard. Senior Captain, Aniyah Parker, started the goal-scoring parade in the 21st minute from an assist from Brielle VonColln. Aniyah would score later and finish the game with 2 goals on the night. Brielle VonColln would add two goals herself along with three assists for the night. Freshman Jackie Brownlee added a hat trick on the night and Abby Mathis also had a goal and assist for the Lady Eagles. Madelyn Johnson, Ava Ferrara and Lilly Pauls each added an assist on the night. The Lady Eagles improved to 13-1 on the season.
The Eagles will travel to Middle Township on Friday for a big divisional game in Court House.
BOYS SOCCER
Boys soccer Lost a 1-0 in a great game vs St. Augustine then returned Tuesday to beat Vineland 5-0. Boys take on Cedar Creek Friday at EHT and host Ocean City next Wednesday night 6pm where we will honor our class of 2025 players.
MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETICS
ALDER FIELD HOCKEY
On Monday, October 7th the Alder field hockey team won their game against Davies Middle School 2-0. Lilly Bertino scored the 1st goal and Adrianna Afanador assisted. While Brynne Capozzoli scored the second goal, sealing the victory! Defensive players Julianna Matricardi, Makila Nammour, Krisana Shah and Briseis Blunt helped secure the shutout while Goalie Bri Craig had 3 saves.
On Wednesday, the Alder field hockey team tied with Ocean City 3-3. Brynne Capozzoli scored 2 goals and Adrianna Afanador scored a goal and had an assist. Goalie Bri Craig had 5 saves. The team’s record is now 4-0-1.
The team's next game is home against Middle Twp on Monday.
ALDER BOYS SOCCER
Alder boys improved to 4-0-1 this week beating Davies 7-0 and Ocean City 6-0!
FERNWOOD GIRLS SOCCER
The Fernwood Girls Soccer Team increased their record to 4-1 with wins over Ocean City, 3-0, and Galloway, 3-0, this week. Goals were scored by Kylie Lambert, Stella Barilotti, Reagan Aron, Jarene Wiafe, and Carlee Cruse scored twice. Karla Urban made great saves in net to record shutouts in both games. The team celebrated their win over Ocean City with pizza on the boardwalk.
