What an awesome and busy week we had last week at Alice Vail! We're thrilled to share some of the highlights:

- First Home Games Victory!

Our Falcons soared high as both our boys' basketball and girls' volleyball teams clinched their first wins in the season opener! We couldn't be more proud of their hard work, teamwork, and determination on the courts. The energy at AVMS was electric, and it was great to see so many of you there supporting our teams. Let's keep that Falcon spirit going strong! Check below for the schedule of next week's games, and let's pack the house again!

- PTSA Meeting Success

A big thank you to everyone who attended our first PTSA meeting of the year. We had a fantastic turnout with approximately 20 participants! Your involvement is crucial in creating a strong school community, and we're excited about the plans and ideas that were discussed. If you couldn't make it this time, don't worry—there will be more opportunities to get involved.

- i-Ready Diagnostics Ahead

Looking ahead, our students will be starting their first i-Ready diagnostics. This diagnostic helps both teachers and students understand where they are academically and start planning for the year ahead. It's a great tool that will guide our instructional practices and ensure that each student gets the support they need to succeed.

Thank you for your continued support in making Alice Vail a fantastic place to learn and grow. We look forward to seeing you at upcoming events and wish our students the best of luck on their assessments and in their games!

I'm happy to report last week's Falcons Dine Out fundraising night at Chipotle raised $110! Way to go and THANK YOU for supporting our Falcons! Our next Falcons Dine Out event is tentatively set for Tuesday, September 10th at Portillo's. More information to follow because we might just have the next PTSA meeting at the same time! (Cake Shakes help meetings go by faster...)

The PTSA Kick-Off meeting was fantastic.Thank you to Penny, our new treasurer, Christina, our new secretary, and Krista & Elizabeth, who are taking leadership of the teacher appreciation breakfasts. Thank you to the parents, students, and our three educators who attended as well!

If we want to follow through on all of the great ideas we have, we need to start raising more money! Volunteers are going to start selling Fun Friday snacks for $1 to our students as they leave for the weekend beginning this week. Don't forget to send your kiddo with a buck or two to buy themselves a reward for making it through a tough middle school week!
